Hi Rick,
I enjoy working out how to make the Barracuda cheap, good and easy. There are two options.
PE set for the templates and the barracuda thermal blanket.
Or Decals hundred and templates for thermal blanket.
Thermal Blanket can also be done in several ways.
Milliput, wet paper, adhesive film .....

Well Jason touched on it yesterday, maybe something like the ATAK or Cavalier zimmerit sheets for german WW2 armour? If one could get the templates and keep the individual panels seperate it might work.

I'm curious to know what will be different in this new Leopard 2A6m book from the older Leopard2a6m CAN book that came out earlier this year?

The new book will cover the Leopard 2A6M CAN from Aug 2007 till spring 2011 with lots of good photos, that will fill the gap for modeling reference of these Leopards. And will be a must have from REALMODELS........

Well my brother asked me what I want for Christmas yesterday so I told him I want the Tamiya Leopard2a6, so I'll probably be ordering a Barracuda and slat armour upgrade kit. (even if I don't get the Leopard 2. lol)

What is the better option? Buy the Hobbyboss kit or this conversion with the Tamiya kit?

I'm not sure entirely but I myself feel more comfortable building a Tamiya kit as I've built a few of them in the past.

It depends on what you want to build....if you want a good detailed Leopard 2A6M CAN then just get the Tamiya kit, the Eduard slat, and the Storm Miniatures conversion.
Other than the PSM or Cromwell Barracuda conversions for the HB kit there is no other Barracuda conversion available.....unless you do it yourself.
The Real Model set does not include Barracuda.

At this moment, does not include Barracuda!!!
For the version without the Barracuda is RM 35149 because it contains everything needed to convert to CDN 2A6M Leopard.
Storm miniatures set does not include skirts 3rd generation.

Good point....or use the PSM 3rd Generation side skirts...lots of options to consider until January or February 2011.
It would be nice to see a layout of what the Real Model conversions will actually include.

When I was looking at the Tamiya site their Leopard 2a6m didn't say "M" for the mine protection, will these upgrade kits come with the extra belly armour or is that something I have to source some other way?

Just looking at all the options and variations currently available to do the basic Leo 2A6M CAN without Barracuda conversion for a full set to build it from start to finish as an all in one box it would be great to include......
- Slat armour and mounts
- antenna mounts
- glacis plate armour
- corrected rear hull piece
- late version air intake clamps
- belly armour
- cooling unit exhaust head
- electronic boxes
- tow bar
- cooler
- ration boxes
- water bottle boxes
- Gen 3 side skirts
- water jerry cans
For a set for the later version which would be Barracuda covered....
- Modified slat armour and mounts
- antenna mounts
- umbrella mount
- expanded umbrella
- folded umbrella
- corrected rear hull piece
- late version air intake clamps
- belly armour
- cooling unit exhaust head
- electronic boxes
- tow bar
- cooler
- ration boxes
- water bottle boxes
- C6 and C6 mount as an option instead of the MG3
- rolled and stowed vehicle tarp
- 25mm ammo boxes
- water jerry cans
If the two sets included all of those things they would be very good sets.

Wow, that's a lot of things to put on the tank. I could use a C6 mount for my C-1 project and I know somewhere down the road I'm going to do a C-2. Hey Miloslav do you have any plans on making a dozer blade for the C-1 or C-2 by chance?

Hi,
No, do not plan to Dozer, because of the very nice manufactured Mouse House. I highly recommend this kit. I added this kit on my C2 MEXAS.

Very good...I hope the clarifying information I provided helped you out.
It would also be very nice to include in the sets......four folding cots, four sleeping bags, and a bunch of clear water bottles too!
