OK for those who even remember, I started scratch building a M916 truck back in ah........um.........November! Thats it! been so long I forgot. well, with any luck I'll beable to start painting on it this week or the next. here is what I have done so far
I still have few things to twike here and there, but for the most part its almost done. Things such as the mirriors, exaust stack and the wench have already been made, just waiting to mount them on the truck.
remember the ONLY thing in this project that was from a freightliner kit was the cab of the truck from this kit
and even that was heavly modified
plaese go easy on me
Vince
here are some great refs on the real truck to compare the model to

Looking good Mad Duck. I also like you web page. I have made it one of my favorites. Got to love the scratch build and the soft skins. Trucks rule!!

thanks animal, I found that scratch building is fun,but its too bad there aren't more softskin truck kits on the market. An injection moulded M911 or 1070 would be nice and of course a M916

Vince - maybe I took too many pain killers this morning (it happens) - but the photos were pretty blurry for me.
What I can see - I really like! Can't wait to see some paint on it. It looks like it's gonna come out great.
Wish I could come over and take some pics for you...

Where did you get the commercial grade drive tires for the front on the M-54? I have been looking for a source for quite a while. Yours look quite convincing.

Animal - I like to use excellent resin tires made by PSP Models (#35039). I get them from Mission Models at $25.00. This is a set made to fit on AFV Club 155mm and 203mm guns - but - work great in the M54 gun truck role too...
