Noticed the Italeri T-26 in my LHS today. Not many reviews around. Anybody got any opinions on it?

I'm very glad to help you.
With some improvment could be a very nice model, in my opinion.
I like Zvezda kits. They remind me the kits wich I did when I was younger.
On Friday i'm going to buy a Zvezda Ba 6 kit and i hope to enjoy it
Cheers

Hi Pat. The Italeri kit may also be a copy of an older Zvezda kit, and not the most recent as shown by Mauro (Im guessing). If so, it will come with Italeri´s normal 4 lengths of track, which are a disaster to glue together and keep paint from cracking/peeling when finished. The updates in the new Zvezda kit may not be included either like drive wheels! My issue with buying kits like this, as I always factor in having to buy aftermarket tracks. It would be a good idea to check the contents first, or look for this Zvezda kit, if the Italeri is in fact the older kit.

Thanks Frank, I'll take a look in the box or as you say look for the zvezda kit online.

I built it in 1998. I really liked it, however the instructions suggest you do silly things and it's best to have a reference handy if you're unfamiliar with the vehicle. You'll need PE, mesh and new tracks, otherwise the kit is fine... well maybe a barrel too. The usual stuff.

Thats the problem with many of the older Italeri, Tamiya, Zvezda, etc kits. Cheap(er) models to buy, but to bring it up to today´s standards, they are going to cost at least as much as a new kit to make them decent. On the other hand, if you want a T26, you don´t have much other choice!

Thanks Kevin
Well Frank it's not like I have a burning need to build a T-26 I'll leave it on the shelf but keep an eye on it there and an eye out for it on the internet.
That's a terrific build on FSM, Thanks for the link, I might have a look on Jadar Models for the mirage kit

Well, that's just it, and really... these days you either buy it all in one box (Dragon) or separately (everything else), the result is the same. So is the price.

The Mirage kit is less accurate than the Zvezda kit, as it's based on the 7TP, which in itself is a Vickers copy. Stick with Zvezda, although some Mirage parts might be useful.
