I am building the 1972 version of this kit. and the instructions SUCK. as usual there are several mislabeled parts and at least one completely left off of the instruction sheet entirely.
first question is, the painting guide has 2 options one is an all green russian version. the other is a tan and green one, what country's army is that supposed to represent?
second one.
the instructions have you add the really nice P.E engine screens and then cover them with the armored covers. are the covers routinely left off the real tank?
it seems a shame to have those nice grills in place and not be able to see them.

Best guess is the cammo T-62 is for someone like Syria or Iraq. However, some Soviet T-62 in A-stan where cammo, but I do not know if the T-62 '72 as OOB from Trumpeter was cammo'd.

Second, the armored covers were removed in hot environments often. A Syrian tank would give you the chance at both cammo and covers off, but you could do it as Soviet "logically".
