Were any Shermans equiped with the CIRD? What units might have used them?
Canadian Shermans were painted which color? US OD green or the British green?

Frenchy,
I had seen that article, but it is not clear if any Shermans were used with CIRDs in action. It talks about tests and being prepared and then withdrawn without use. I have seen pictures of Churchills with them rolling through Europe, but never a Sherman.
I doubt that the Shermans pictured were shipped back from Europe after the war, so they were used here for training or testing. Would the Shermans have been "given" to other countries after the war? I imagine the US would have kept their Shermans with their troops until they were replaced with Pershings and Waklers.
Or am I just reading it wrong?

I've just searched a bit further and found this picture from the Dutch national archives (thanks to this thread : http://www.mapleleafup.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14183 )
"A Sherman tank and infantry of the British 11th Armoured Division passed a Bailey bridge at Lock 11 on the Zuidwillemsvaart canal towards Asten [Operation Market Garden] ,24 September 1944." (caption translated using Google )
..looks like an ex-CIRD tank to me
