Hi Guys,
FInished the decalling and weathering of the robot. I had used the kit decals as well as some from the spare box.
The weathering is done lightly with airbrushed mud on the lower chasis and buff on the turret, and dry brush.

Lord Sci Fi:
This is just so cool.
Great pics showing the detail!!!! (especially the "feet" and the rear-end).
Tell us how you did the green translucent lens, (I know you told me in chat)--but share the technique please as it's a good one.
Please send me one of these from HK----it should be done in OD according to My Squardron source on fantasy robots #:-)
As usual, your UOM skills show through (from in progress to final product)
Good Stuff

First SS Panzer robots, LSSAH. Now there is something you don't see everyday. I may have to pick up one of these kits. I think it would very cool sitting on my desk at work. Great job, as always, Dave. Thanks for sharing it here. Maybe you could enter it in a Twilight 2300 campaign?

Sweet kit as usual Dave. Nice to see something little different .... yet familiar.
How close did you check your references, souldn't that Ausf. have zimmerit on it? Better find a Schiffer book covering this variant....
Great job.

Hey Dave,
that´s a nice Messerschm...Focke-Wu...kick-ass vehicle.
That´s something I could use to guard my nazi UFO!
That gatling really rocks!
The big green lamp is probably the same kind of light they use when they shoot night action sequences in films!
#:-)

Dave,
Was this the old SF3D release or the newer MaK RE-release?
If it was the old one, how in the world did you get those ancient, THICK kit decals to lay down so nicely?
It's been said before, but I'll add my US$0.02, Nicely done
I was going to do some smart alec 'wrong Ausf, wrong paint.. yadda yadda" as well, but someone beat me to it...
Mike

Dave, this is not only a cool subject but the paintjob is particularly well done.
Your faded ambush scheme is superb.
Again, cool project Dave,
Andrew

Maybe you could put it on a dio base in the middle of the woods, with a bunch of dead ewoks spread around it...

Oh guys, thanks for the nice comment. This was indeed a very enjoyable project for me. I recommend for anyone that is interested in weird stuff.
To answer the question about the lens. The kit comes with a lens cover, but also with clear part for the spot light. I just think it would be neat to leave the cover out.
I first spray the inside silver. then cut off a clear sprue, glue it inside to make a bulb. (actually, the kit has the bulb area pierced, so if you wanna you can install an LED), then just clear paint the clear part. if you look close, you can see the bulb inside. it's fun.
Thanks again for the comment.

what a brilliant "double take " model,it reminds of a ps2 game called armoured core 2 where you pilot (they can fly as well) machines like this as you can customise the paint job and insignia, needless to say my a/c ended up with a colour scheme like your kit. is this an actual kit or scratch built by the way?
