Currently building this, with a fair bit of etch ( from ET Models ) etc
I've found a fiar bit of info on the vehicle through a couple of Russian web sites, but nothing with any pictures of an operational vehicle.
Does / has anyone used this vehicle, with the ERA ?
Or am I going to be finishing it in plain ol' Russian green to be safe ?
Any help appreciated...

Hi Andy
Maybe in these links you can find references
http://weaponwars.ru/bmp-3/bmp-3.html
(A very interesting site with a bunch of techinical drawings. Pics are in B&W)
http://armor.kiev.ua/Tanks/Modern/BMP3/
(some pics)
http://army.lv/ru/bmp-3/701/57
Fantastic site indeed. Clicking on the links on the left of the main pic you can find:

(A complete online book)

Another interesting site is "Otvaga 2004.ru" You can find:
http://www.otvaga2004.narod.ru/otvaga2004/armour-rus-bmp3/a_bmp3.htm
(references about all the bmp3 versions. Click on the pics to enlarge them)

BMP-3 vith ERA (which I think is depicted by the Trumpeter kit). Pics and ...huge drawings:
Maybe you' ve already known anyway to find out more references I advise you to write in the google toolbar the BMP-3 original name written in Cyrillic alphabet
БМП-3
I hope this is useful for you
Cheers
