This one is still in the works and i have alot to do before i say its close to being complete. I'm an active duty Marine and have a preference for the Pacific theater. I've wanted to do a Tarawa dio for a long time and finally got started on it. let me know how it looks and what i can do to make it better..
a view through the gun port in the bunker

Your Dio is looking good, but do you have a photo of the whole thing showing all of that LVT? also what figures are you using I like the poses of the injured 1's add realism to the it Looking forward to seeing it completed.

I like the Bunker Seawall and the wounded. My only quibble would be the extreme angle of climb of the LVT. Would the engine stall at such an angle? I've seen LVT-1s stalled on the seawall at Tarawa but there at a lower angle.
The 782 gear would be Khaki along with the leggings
Very dramatic presentation and not too gory for what was a very gory battle..

The sand looks a little course. I wouldn't think the bunker would be that close to the water, for fear of high tide flooding it. The dead figures do go a long way to add realism to the dio. I would add a machine gun to the bunker. And, if there is an ammo box lying in the sand where is the machine gun it belongs to?

All of the figures i have are from Warriors, even that IJA guy in the bunker. I would rather use Dragon for the Japanese since the figures are a tad smaller than Warrior but that one IJA figure seemed to be more appropriate. I thought about making it a bit more gory..maybe some more blood in the sand, more bloody gear laying about. While looking through some pics of Tarawa i found that there was tons of stuff strewn about the beach, over the seawall and thought placing random items wouldnt be a bad idea. I'll definately change some things around on it and try to make things fit in more and make it more realistic. I'll try to get a better pic of the whole thing vice just sections. Thanks everbody..keep the comments coming...

Better than my second, I'd say.
I like the graphic depiction by the way. We have to stop sanitizing the more unpleasant aspects of what we're modelling
