Well, what you do if you win a incomplete kit with many missing parts. Scrap! Was the first thing I think. But after a while, I remember i always whant to model a burn out or destroied vehicle. The kit im my hands come very useful for this task.
So, in past week, with my wife in a trip and my daughters in the house of her grandma, I have the time to try something diferent.
I start searching in my books for some techniques that I can do, and mix with some ideas I have, and after three days that thing "born" in my workbench. Well, it's not exactly what I wanted it to be, but doesn't seem so bad. Not's so bad for my first attempt to make a destroyed vehicle.
I painted using Acrilex (an acrylic handicraft paint here in brasil) dilluted with alcohol, that is airbrushed smooth. The varnish is thinner dilluted and is very good, more than some especialy for the hobby. The rust texture is done using plaster and varnish (acrylic), aplied with an old brush, the "good" varnish seal then. Some fadding was done in the painting and oil washes come next, followed by drybrushing. Pastels help to add some dust.
Further web search, help me discover what I do wrong and what I need to improve in the next time. Well, trying, mistaking, and learning ......

Hi Audren
It looks very nice , congrats.
What kit did you use?
Is it a 1/35 model isn't ?
Maybe you should use a wider diorama base but, is a convincing dio in my opinion.
cheers

Very Good Audren, Great rust and the desert sand around the tank. I agree a little bigger base but the subject is outstanding !

Great painting and weathering (especially for a first attempt).
You should have left open or the hatches (at least the crew ones) as left open in a hasty flight of the crew, that would have given it a bit more "action" and realism... just a side note, the rest is great, as I said.
