Hi,
I was planning on getting the Mine roller from the Trumpeter T-55 kit and putting it on the Tamyia kit.
it's the KMT-5 version if i'm not mistaken, but recently I saw the beautiful MIG version of the KMT-7.
deployed here:
http://www.armyrecognition.com/components/ebygallery/Russian_Expo_Arms_2008_Static/up/brm-3m_with_kmt-7_mine_sweeper_system_001.jpg
-- That would be a terrific kit project by the way --
Anyway which of those versions would be correct for the T-55 ?
Thanks !

Hi John
Maybe i'm wrong but as far as I know, t-55 monted just kmt-5 mine roller
The only exception which I've seen are the Slovak T-55 C-1

Just my two cents

I agree with Mauro, the KMT-7 may (I said MAY) be deployable with the T-55 but the KMT-5 is by far the most common. Lots of pics out there of it. I hear the Trumpeter one isn't that bad either as well as a ton cheaper than the Mig one.

Hi Mauro & Roy,
That's what I was thinking, I'm kinda glad I didn't got the MIG resin kit.
The Trumpeter kit has a Finnish version, but I only got it for the Mine roller, it was quite cheap 15 € at my LHS...
I found the MIG one at around 40 € at some online shops, I might get it for a BMP-3 someday...
Thanks alot for the reference pics.
By the way anyone has a kit from this little beast ?

it wouls be a nice project to do but not for my skills..
Thanks again !

It would be stunning John, but as far as I know unfortunately anyone produces a bmr-3m kit.
Unless you want scratchbuild that monster, for KMT-7 three models which you can use are for exemple

Nito, what mine clearing device would a BMP-3 use? I can get ahold of the kmt5, 6 and 7. I think it would allow me to give a little more character to my build.

Matt, I did find some evidence of the BMP using a mine clearing device.
Zvezda had a BMP-2 kit with one , but for the BMP-3 didn't find any reference but..
I found this russian site
http://www.saper.etel.ru/texnica/kmt-7.html
I don't understand russian but I'm pretty sure that in the first 3 lines of the text they explain something about the BMP versions...
Here you have plenty of info on the BMP's, including internal weapon systems
http://militaryforces.ru/firearms-3-63.html
http://militaryforces.ru/firearms-3-71.html
Have to check some more...
