Hey, kids ... Here are a few quickie test shots of the AFV Club T-34-76 Model 1942 Factory 112. The kit was not without its issues, but overall a decent build. I am not finished, so be gentle with your comments, please I still have lighting and level issues to deal with, as well as a few details on the model itself. Also, as the monitor I use is ancient, if you fellas could let me know how he images look I would appreciate it!
Thanks for lookin'

The kit looks great to me, and nice pictures as well (a lot better than mine certainly).
I realise you say it's not finished so I suspect you will be weathering in the white numbers/crest as they look very bright compared to the battleworn vehical ?

Thought you were going with Pomon airfilter.
Brilliant work, Mike but I'm hurt that you didn't share with me first.

Hi Mike. Love the paint job so far. Very natural weathering ... looks great. If this is still unfinished, Im looking forward to the finished photos!!! Will you include a base and figures?
The images look great IMO ... can be difficult to get them right when the model colour is dark and the background is white .... might be easier if a coloured (light grey or blue) background is used.

Hey Mike,
Notthing to be asame of. It looks nice Maby you can dirty the white decals down with a wash. You don't have to Chip the decals becose they can be painted new on it.
I am also working on my T-34/76, but i do not master the chipping completly.
Any tips for me?
I also want to use the german jerrycan on the side by mine T-34/76
Regards,
Remco
P.s. Love your article in ''Modeling the T34/76".

Anthony Carlucci, Tom, Kevin ... thanks for all your kind words! They are greatly appreciated.
Anthony Caryl and Remco - Yes, the markings have been toned down a bit. I always add them in the later stages of weathering to keep them from disappearing completely.
Mark - Sorry dude, didn't realize you would take it personally A quick question ... what color would the tie-down straps for the spare tracks & cleats be....?
Frank - Thanks for the nice comments. No base or figures at this time. This was built for an article to appear in MMiR and I hoped to focus on the interior.
Keith - Realism is hard to pull off and still make the model visually interesting. I tend to avoid alot of chipping and streaking, so I needed to come up with something else.
Remco - I often use a dark brown/dark grey paint for chipping, applying it with small finely pointed brush. A more realistic result will be achieved using restraint. The jerry can I added was to add a splash of color on the model, breaking up the all-green scheme a bit. And thanks for the nice comment re: the T34/76 book. That was fun to build/write and more T34-related articles/books are in the works.
Thanks again,
Mike

Mike,
That was my point, the realism is in your restraint.
Fine job mate.

Spare tracks were bolted to the fenders. The ice cleats would have been strapped down with brown (I think) leather belts early on and, it seems for the most part, wire from '42 on.
Still, my delicate feelings are offended.

I'm quite new to modelling, any advice on doing a quality model of the T-34/76?
