Hey all,
I need help from some T-72 experts. I saw different variants of T-72 tanks in the Lybian army. Is the Verlinden turret any good for representing one? I compared it to piictures and believe it is, but maybe one of the experts can shed more light?
Heres an example:

From memory I have seen two types of T-72's in use in Libya. The T-72A (or probably export version T-72M1) and the early version with the stereoscopic rangefinder. ( See C and E here: http://cs.finescale.com/FSMCS/forums/p/137698/1431842.aspx )
Perhaps one could use the Verlinden turret and back date it??? Otherwise your only option for the early turret are the Model Point one.
Cheers,
/E

Thank you both for your input!
I think I will go for the Verlinden turret and just give it a try. The edges seem a bit too sharp but should be no problem to correct.
Thanks again and all the best,
Andreas

The turret has issues. The sculptor said that he was rushed to get it done and was not happy with the finished product. Buyer beware.

Thanks a lot Jacques, I didnt knew that. Well, I got my turret + hull on discount. It was 50% cheaper bec. the online-shop was closing down. But to be honest, we are all waiting for a kit without issues and we all know, that it will never happen to us.....
Best regards,
Andreas
The hull from Verlinden looks very nice btw. I have to check If they relocated the engine deck as it should be, but I dont think so.

Don't get me wrong, it can be worked with. It is just not like Miniarm where you clean it up and it is nearly perfect and ready to go. The deck, so I have heard, is much nicer than the turret but I do not know if they fixed the deck issues either.

No no no Jacques, I didnīt got you wrong, totally understand what you meant. My statement should be a joke. Well, I almost finished the upper hull. Itīs really nice, has some small fitting issues at the back but itīs ok. Details are great, but they didnīt fixed the engine-deck issue. I will leave the turret as it is, I think. Letīs see
Thanks again,
Andreas

No problem. I usually qualify my remarks so if someone happens upon this thread they do not take me wrong. I would hate to see someone who is interested in doing Red Armor drop their interest just because the Verlinden T-72 turret has some issues, for example.
