Hi all,
a friend of mine went to Saumur show lately and took some shots for a walkaround of two T-72 displayed at the museum.
The problem is Saumur museum didn't ID the tanks so any help from the T-72 gurus would be appreciated.
The sand one has some strange vehicle number plate. My guess is a -M or-M1.
The dark green looks more like a -A.
TIA
Olivier
Sorry my friend didn't send me large view pictures.

First one is an M1 (additional glacis armor, beefed up turret armor) Second one is I think an A (no extra armor on hull and notice the turret has no undercut where the smoke launchers are)

I think the first tank is a soviet-made T-72A, the second one is a T-72M, export version with thinner armor... I think this version was also buil under license at Poland and Czechoslovakia

The so-called M1 appears to really be a M1. So i didn't have it wrong !
The A is in fact a M according to some real Russian stuff military experts. It could come from the former NVA stocks so the unofficial (at least in the Russian lists) G denomination could apply too.
