I didn't know Trumpy had another variant of this planned.
What exactly is the difference between this one and the other Russian BMP-3 kits?

There's also this variant which is on pre-order at GreatModels... but I don't see it on pre-order at any of the stores in HK or Japan
Is this a real future release by Trumpeter?

Hi Karl
Trumpeter has already made the early BMP3, the UAE BMP-3 and BMP 3 with ERA active armour
This kit may represent the BMP-3 late production type For Russian Infantry
http://www.afv-news.com/2011/06/trumpeter-bmp-3-ifv/
Hisham
That kit would be perhaps an Arab BMP-3 M with "Kaktus" extra armours
Just my opinion anyway and I might be wrong
cheers

Yeah!
But to be honest I'm still hoping for a BMP-1...
(Actually we are NEVER satisfied... )

Hmm, I saw an image of an BMP-1/2 hull. (including a strange-looking (chinese?) turret)
So, possibly "big T" could produce them in the future! I hope so!!!
No, we´re never satisfied! You´re right.
I would love to see some of my "dreams". (different aircraft, vehicles and other things)
But to say, I also plan to make my own model-kits.
greetings...

Is it just me or does the camo scheme on the box-art look strange? Most pics I've seen of the BMP-3 with that green and pale sandy color usuallyhas some black bits too. There is only one I've seen lately with the two tone and it had a lot more of the sandy color than this.

Phil- I have the Unimodel BMP-3 Export Version. I heard this is a re-boxing of the Skif Kit although I'm not totally sure about that. If it is the same kit then my impression of it in the box (I haven't built it yet) is that it isn't up to Trumpy's standards but some parts are quite good and the moulding looks decent. Worst thing about it is the tracks- they are rubber band style, flat and fairly inaccurate. Thats as much as I can tell you. I'm sure someone out there has built the Skif kit though.

SKIF kit was ok for its day, but needed a lot of work to be accurate. Trumpeter got it very good out of the box. Not perfect, but a LOT better starting point than the SKIF kit. Just google SKIF BMP-3 review to get a lot more info on the kit...

Skif is trash without a lot of work. Buy the Trumpeter kit and use the Skif one for a burnt out version.

The last few references are amazing, especially the PDF. Can anyone provide a translation for the photos on pages 37, 38, 39, and 42?

What is the difference between this kit #1528 "Production type" (picture on top of this thread) and the vehicle represented in kit# 364 "early version"? Comparing the box art, the differences are not apparent to me.
[On Trumpeter's web page, they also announced another version BMP-3E Kit # 519 which also does not seem very different from kit 3 1528 and #364]

The BMP-3E kit seems to be missing the Infra Red light that is mounted to the right side of the main gun and the laser ranging device mounted above the main gun. Hard to determine from the web site pictures but the gunners sight located to the top left side of the turrent seems to be bigger on the "E" version.
