Hey guys,
I'm working on a Canadian sherman tank wich fought in Ortona in 1943. The only problem I have is that I'm un certain of what should be the right painting scheme. I have seen some dragon box-arts from sherman tanks around that periode being one from Sicily and al Alamein They both show some sort of camo scheme. But the photos I have in possesion of Shermans in Ortona do not show any sort of camo Scheme. Now my Question is if there is anyone around here who can tell me what color those tanks might have had in December 1943. I also have a couple of photos of tanks in and around Ortona the first being the one i'm using for my model.
Altough this last one clearly showsd a form of camo.
Cheers Remi

Hi Remi,
Have you tried the Armoured Acorn website?
Armoured Acorn
It's where I always start a search for all things armored and Canadian.
They have on page two of these color plates, a 3 Rivers Rgt Sherman stated as operating in the Ortona area in 1943:
Canadian Vehicle Marking Part 27

Hi Remi,
The Links Mike provided are probably the best area to look for Canadian paint schemes and markings for Sherman V's that fought at Ortona.
For 1st armoured brigade decals you cand find some dry transfers at Archer that should do nicely.
