Trumpeter has released their 1/35 BTR-60P, which is the open top version; Great Models has it in stock. I wonder if anyone knowledgeable about such vehicles could suggest what kind of stowage I could throw into the back of this troop carrier. Stowage for modern Soviet vehicles isn't very plentiful. I hope to find some modern seated infantry for it as well. I've started looking around for pics, to find some interesting camo and markings for this beast, and I haven't had much luck, even though it was widely exported. I'd have loved to have done one in the service of the Marina de Mexico, but the Mexicans don't use the open top version, unfortunately.
Does/did this vehicle come with some kind of canopy that could be raised, like a convertible top, to keep the troops dry in a rainstorm, or provide shade from the sun?
