I am getting the Alanger T-28 and would like to know if this kit comes with the later connicle turrets. Could anyone shed some light on this?
Also, does anyone know if some T-28s had a BT-2 37mm gun turret instead of one of the DT machineguns?

Well, the 1936 version kit is cylindrical-only (which is kind of correct), and I doubt that 1938 version isn't (which is also correct, because the conical version was introduced in 1940, and as far as I remember, there are very minor differences between 1936 and 1938, which revolve mainly around the main gun).
And, while it would be pretty cool, I don't remember reading or seeing anything about a 37mm gun inside a small turret in T-28 (although it isn't implausible, since its small turrets are essentially the same as on the 2-turret T-26, some of which indeed had 37mm + 7.62mm armament).
Also, I must say that there are some issues with the grille above the engine which isn't detailed enough (there's just ribbed plastic instead of a grate) and the exhaust pipe. I don't remember what was wrong with the latter, but I do remember that I had to build the grille and the exhaust pipe from scratch (so expect a tripwire there somewhere).

Alanger give us two variants of T-28. First is an early model (1934-38) with KT-28 gun. The second one is later model (1938-40) with L-10 gun. There are some different between them in details but the both models have similar cylindric turret.
There were only 13 tanks (1940) with conical turrets.
T-28 never had 37mm guns in small turrets,only DT's.
I am building now, so if you will need help just ask.

AH, cool. Would it be possible to change the turrets around with those of another kit?

I do not understand what you mean...
If you want to replace little turrets by turrets from T-26 (1931-1933) it will incorrect. Turrets are not similar.

No, is it possible to replace the big 76 turret with a connicle one? And also is it possible to replace the small MG turrets with connicle ones (if they existed)?

Gentlemen,
To the best of my knowledge, the conical turrets for the T-28 Model 1940 are not available anywhere in plastic. There was a resin conversion set for the T-35 which included the correct turrets but I forget who produced it and I believe it's out of production anyway.
There were numerous detail changes among the T-28s apart from the turrets and 76mm gun. For example, there are at least three variations in the large exhaust grille on the rear deck. The muffler/exhaust assembly also changed, as did the external stowage configuration. Make sure you check your references for the vehicle you plan to model.

Small conic turrets were only on late T-35. You can't replace cylindrical 76mm turret, because there are no existing such turrets now. My friend scratch it , when he wanted to build this model. Maybe somebody produce such turret in resin, but i don't know about it.
Oh! I have remembered!!! Azimut were producing conic turrets for T-35. I and my friends in Russia made a conclusion that conic turret from Azimut is something average between T-35 and T-28 conic turrets. They have some important differences between each other.

Yes, I am planning on also buying the book T-28: Steel Fortress. Have any of you guys seen this book? I have read a few reviews on it and they all say it is a good book. Did The T-28 have cylindrical DT MG turrets?
Im not planning ob building this kit for some time because I am only up to my second kit ever. I am going to build some more kits to get expierience. The T-28 and T-35 are among my favorite tanks, so when I build them I will take extreme care on getting them right.

I am building now T-28 so the best book I have ever seen is M,Kolomiets "T-28 3 turret Stalin's beast". Other books are not so good.
Here is how it look like (cover).

T-28 has ONLY cylindric MG turrets.
I have just built T-35. I think when you start yours i will end my T-28. So if you will need help just let me know.
