I think Plasticbattle has a good point :
let's put the finish time a bit ealy ! That way, those who have a little difficulty finishing still have a chance of having there work displayed !

I think perhaps it should be sub-divided, could 5 seperate galleries be provided for in-progress pics? It could be difficult to organize but it could make the progress of the campaign a little easier as I have the feeling this could be enormous....Jim

Ola People
I have a question about this:
What happened with this idea. This idea of a Market Garden Campaign was put up on the forum a couple of weeks ago also with the idea to memorate this operation and the respons and input was actually very good. A lot of People, including me, really liked the idea and wanted to participate.
Can anybody answer this question???

Actually that was me starting some weeks ago... I'm still gonna propose a Campaign and if rejected make it a group build. I found out a lot of people are hoping for this Marked Garden build to go on..... so it will, one way or the other.

The whole campaign process/schedule is up in the air until we can make some decisions about how they are going to go forward. I think the concensus is that campaigns should be larger more involved events and group builds can be done if a group of members wants to do them. There are no restrictions on group builds. There are however only going to be a limited number of official site campaigns. What that number will be seems to be an issue that is still not a consensus.
Cheers,
Jim

I should point out that I am not planning on any such limitations for the alternate language sites. So if the Benelux group wanted to do a Market Garden Campaign that would be fine.

Well a simple conclusion comes to mind .....
I'll end my journey into the Market Garden Campaign series right here, and I will take the idea with me to the Dutch forum.
Market Garden here we come.

It will be too bad if we loose the markeet garden idea because it was also a very important operation... far less remembered !

Only seen this thread now! Whether it is a Campaign, Group Build or Team Effort, I’m definitely in! To take Omaha beach, took a lot of guts from both the Army and Navy.

...Does the question remain, Is there an "OPERATION OVERLORD A 60th Anniversary Campaign of Rememberance" Campaign or not?

Hi there
Has anything been set up for a D-Day Memorial Campaign?
Time waits for no man... and June is getting closer.
All the best

What category would this be? Armor? Figures? Or perhaps a new one called Events or In Memory of... ?

Hi there ShermiesRule
Hopefully this will be all inclusive - land, sea and air - so all the Armorama members can take part... whatever they prefer to build.
Has anything been formalised yet?

If this thread gets any longer it will be the 6th June already,if it gets up and running i'm in,as long as it doesn't go the same way as some other campaigns and died of old age.

Yeah!
Who's ready to step up to the plate and take the bull by the horns?!!! Any takers?
And yes, Jim started this thread - campaign idea - that all genres would be included. Land, air, sea, and everything in between. If it took part in D-Day, it'll take part here.

Hi again
Well, we're also bouncing ideas about on A-UK... so, one way or another, we should get a D-Day Commemoration Build off the ground. :-)
It would be neat if it was on the Main Site though...
Stay tuned...

Hi,
Ready to help.
I think it's a good idea of having a campaign with several operations and start now to finish before the D-Day, as had been pointed out.

Yes, who do we go to for official recognition. As we all suspect June 6, 2004 to be the end date can we at least agree that today is an acceptable start date. We can always backdate the opening day of the campaign at the official posting but we need time to build.

Hello everybody,
i would like to be in but as I am new in this forum hope not to make any confusion. So if I understood correctly I could participate with any issue referring to D-Day. I already did something for a dio on D-day, I posted 5 images today in gallery... but I think I will be present onl w ith my work in progress. I can't promise to end in time as I will marry end of May and time for modelling isn't so much...may I be in anyway?
Please keep me informed.
This new community helps me in having comparison with other modellers as my club life is almost nihil.
By the any Italian modeller would participate? Am I the only one?
regards
sharpshooter

Welcome Sharpshooter. I too am new and as I understand campaigns you must build them during a defined time period according to the Campaign rules. Any previously started models will not count.

haha, that is lucky. i started my figure exactly two days ago.. that would be either the 20th or the 22nd. either way, all ive done is glued it together, base coated the face, painted eyes, and coated them.. im waiting for the eyes to dry. im very eager to see this figure come to life as i paint it.
