@Randy I guess the German prisoners didn't try to escape because they knew that they'd been beet.
Isn't there a SSN San Diego? or an Augusta Bell Helicopter and I think the USMC Camp Pendelton is in or near San Diego and the of course that wonderful museum down at Balboa Park with all manner of aircraft in it ...........

As long as NASA (space shuttle, apollo lander, etc) stuff is fair game, I am in - I grew up next to Johnson Space Center and dad worked there.
If not, I suppose I could do one of the ANG aircraft from the local base (Ellington) - they were always flying over our house.

Sure Vance Astronautical is fine, anything is fair game.
The main focus is on the association that you have with the subject and the closer it is to you the better. Maybe a story from your Dad's time there?

I may change the start date of the campaign. We already have 5 campaigns starting on January 1. I will probably move it to March or April and change the end date to keep the campaign the original length.

Excellent, thanks for that Gary. Will be a bit of a wait but there's plenty enough on all our plates between now and March.

Well I'm in ! Scott, you did say anything is fair game, right ? There are a lot of military things around Milwaukee that would make great subjects, I forgot about civilian things. Rambler/American Motors factory was only 10 blocks from my house and Harley Davidson just a few miles away. I might do something with a little Chrome on it if that's OK.

Sounds fine to me Tom, if you can work in a good story to go with it even better. Surely there must be 1000 wild tales you can come up with for a Harley !
If you can, a pic and a tale from a genuine Hell's Angel, on a Harley, in Milwaukee you'd be on a winner I'd reckon.

Nice, but gonna be hard to read as small as a ribbon is. How about a plain city-scape?

This interests me greatly.
It so happens that I have been contemplating a project along these lines for some time. I was a kid on Kwajalein in the 1960s. the potential modelling subjects are legion.
in recent months I have been collection 144th airplanes that I remember seeing there, and Im thinking of scratch building a display area and 144th scale buildings that resemble the ramp at Bukholz field, seen above.

Kwajalein ! wow what a subject, I imagine there are heaps of thing you can do with that.
I'd be interested to know what it was like growing up there in the 60's.
Badge looks good Gary ! Can we put rounded corners on it?

yes indeed, besides the many planes, there were lots of boats and ships.
For example, the Tarlang, inter-island ferry boat built on a WWII LST
Tugboats, minesweepers, and Hoyt Vandenberg

I might be able to put some white in the corners to simulate rounded corners but it would only work on a white background.

Took me a while to figure out how to make one of the palette colors transparent.
