Hellow guy's

I've put Hurrican on hold as I have to wait for parts. So I started this new project:

Someone on a Dutch form told me to try a sherman tank from Tasca. So I've bought one on Ebay and a couple of accessories

So I started tooling the vehicle togheter:

First the bogies:

Sprocket wheel:

Next up the hull. I was suprised how easy all parts fit togheter there is almost no sanding or cutting required to make things fit

After a couple of weeks waiting I've finally recieved the .30cal barrels from aber. It took a bit of an effort to make them fit right. But super glue did wonders to it!

Finishing the Hull and Turret:

One of the last things I've done so far is fitting in the Stowage. Also I made a stowage rack on the rear of the hull as it was clearly seen on several photos of tanks fighting in Ortona.

I've also made a head start on the tracks. At first I painted them black and then sprayed them over with panzer aces track primer. Next would be giving it a rusty wash. and adding in the pigments and dry brushing it with metal color for the wear on the iron.

I do have a couple of questions on wich I hope you guys could help me:
First I'm looking for a tank commander wich has the same helmet and stance as the one shown on the 1st picture.
Secondary: Its obvious to see that the running gear is filled up with mud. Does any one a good technique to make the tracks and bogies filled up with mud?
If you guys have some other good tips for weathering you are welcome to mention them!

For the figure, try http://www.ultracast.ca/, as for the mud, I use powdered pigments mixed with water, apply with a soft brush. It will take multiple coats to build up. For a wet effect, coat with a semi-gloss clear.

Looks like a great build so far. Can't wait to see final product.

Hi Remi,

Excellent work so far, As this is a Mk V my only thought is on the rear stowage shelf. Could you post up a reference picture for this?

Coming along really well.

Hi Remi,

Nice to see your building another Sherman. Don’t you just love those tasca kits?

That picture is what inspired my build of this Free French M4A2
