Hi I am 14 years old and live in Scotland. This is my first real post onto a model blog and was wondering if there were any other junior or Soviet modellers who would like to share photos of thier Soviet or Cold War Vehicles as I am interested in learning new techniques.
I am grateful to anyone who responds.
Thanks
Euan
P.S.
Is there anyone out there who attended this years Scottish Nationals in Perth or Glasgow ModelFest?

Hi there, and welcome.
I don't think you could call me junior anymore (i'm 23) , but compared to the older guys I guess i'm still a young turk. Good to see soviet/russian modelers. Something like 8/10ths of my huge stash is soviet/russian. I guess I'll share my favorite piece of armor (that I've finished to far), my lindberg T-80. Hey my Zevzda BMP-2D turned out pretty well....
Don't know to many techniques, but that's why I'm here too. Though I have taken a liking to brush painting over my airbrush.

Wow I did'nt expect a reply so soon. Thanks alot for posting.
I love the camo scheme on the BMP-2D, is that the Afghanistan varient with the extra armour and mine plough. The BMP-2 got the nickname 'Hedgehog' by the troops in Afghanistan, dunno why mabey the way the smoke dischargers are positioned. The T-80 also looks great youve made a superb job with the ERA tiles, Ive got 1 Zvezda T-80 built but not painted and 3 BMP-2s. Thanks Again
Euan
P.S. What is your favourite Soviet Modern and WW2 vehicle?

This is one of my recent models, finished a couple of months ago. It is Dragons BRDM-2 and is a great kit to build. The first one i've used filters on.

If I were you, and obviously I'm not, I would learn from the masters. I won't point any out. Don't want to appear to be partial. These guys and gals will set you in the right direction. Modelling is a learning and constantly evolving hobby. You will develop your own techniques, along the way. Practice makes perfect. By asking for other "junior modellers" for help, you sabotage yourself. They are still learning from the masters. Skip the middleman and go for broke.

WWII i'd say I've taken a liking to the JS-3. Already did a Su-85 tank destroyer, and am finishing up a T-34/76. I'm going to go with a JS-3 and KV tank next. Modern, I'd say I do like me some T-90/T-72. Have a HobbyCraft T-72, and pre-ordered Zevzda's new T-90 kit.
I like the T series tanks. Got two T-55's, a T-62, T-64, T-72, T-80.

Hi Euan , welcome to the hobby.
Though I'm not a young modeller myself, I just had to reply to the post of someone with the same name as my youngest son. Congrats to your parents for spelling it right too.
He's currently working on the T34/76 half of the 1/72 DML Ferdinand/T34 kit that he split with his brother, though he's normally into "wingy things". I'll post some pic's on here when it's finished and painted.
BTW we are in Perth, just not the picturesque Scottish one.
Regards,
Lucien

Hi Euan,
Welcome to the fold! I've sent you a PM, so check your inbox (if your browser's like mine it might be obscured by the 'search' box, but should be highlighted in yellow to show you've received a message)
Cheers,
Dierk

This photo makes the BRDM-2 look quite bad, in reality it is much better, don't judge me!
