Dear friends
I just purchased the Chinese HQ-2 missile on transporter kit...it supposed to be a modified Russian version.
Several website pointed that the Chinese HQ-2 were sold to N Korea. If so,
a) were there any mods made, did they retain much of the Chinese markings? Like the chinese logo in front of the licensed OEM truck, did N Korea remove the logo?
b) Did they N Koreans buy the trucks and trailer too?
b) I reckon the North korea would paint the truck and trailer dark green with red star, anybody has any pictures or video of the N Korean HQ-2?
Thanks
Kiongs

This is the only picture I could find:
Based on what I've read about the North Korean military I would doubt they kept the Chinese markings and it is highly likely they did buy the Chinese truck and trailer but they may have been producing their own version since. I think you are spot-on about the dark green and red star.

The N. Korean tractor on the above pic looks more like a Russian Ural 375S tractor, not the Chinese Jiefang CA-30 tractor (which is a copy of the Russian Zil 157 tractor) that is in the Trumpy HQ 2 kit. The line of the front fenders is different though. Maybe it is the Chinese copy of the Ural as well.

Hi Gino
They rather look like ZiL-131s to me...
Here's a East German rig :
And here's a vidcap from another North Korean Army parade :
Another one from the same parade showing a ZiL-131 used as a SA-3 supply truck :

Yup, Frenchy's power of research has found it. Zil 131 it is.
