Hey guys,
I've searched but haven't found any useful pictures of the BTR-40. I got a Trumpeter BTR-40 (and am building it, going to post a build log too) and want some reference pictures. I searched the forum and have seen some similar requests, but came away empty handed. Partly for this reason I'm going to do a build log of this machine (OOB), also because my web searches for finished pictures of a trumpy BTR-40 were no where to be found...

I also managed to find the picture that inspired the box art!

Also found this picture of a MG mount (says DP-28):

Found this restored BTR-40:

Found this BTR-40 manual (East German) too:

On a side note, as the BTR-40 didn't have any permanent weapons on board, can I get away with mounting a Dshk on it? I do love me some Dshk. Also, any 1950's Soviet troop figures? Kinda lonely with no troops to put in the BTR when it's done.

Many thanks.

Maybe you've already done but anyway, have you try to use the russian nomenclature as keyword for your internet research?

Thanks. Just what I was looking for. Just wanted some reference for painting the interior and the under side/suspension. The paint guide says go with the camo scheme, so I wanted to be sure. Also seems the drive mechanism is black with some green over spray on some and same color as the res of the vehicle on others. I guess I'll go with the camo in the suspension/wheel well area and go over it with some diluted flat black to darken it. Drive mech in flat black and go in with some diluted green. Paint the engine assembly in metallic grey and go over it with some diluted black to give it a darker appearance.

Gonna play around and see if I can get the right look by using some filler and going over it with some flat earth and some diluted brown to see if I can get a nice mud effect. I should put up my build log soon.

Maybe it was my mistake to get the same Russian resin kit which cost about $80 couple of years ago...
P.S: Can't upload the picture...
