Guys
This in a nutshell is just being built as a
Centurion based british e100 equivalent,
its as simple as that.
Its a very simple design brief this time.
I thought it was too long for its width like the mk 1 Challenger
and would have similar steering problems.
However after looking at existing tank hull ratios i discovered its
hull ratio is 0.16 lower than a mk7 churchill
Churchill being 2.56 and this build being 2.40..happy with that.
Its the same width as a Tortoise and about 2-3 feet longer than an e 100
the tracks will be hobby boss king tiger
the barrel will be an m107 175mm modern American barrel making
a fictional British 7 inch gun.
The engine choice would be a Rolls Royse Merlin or Griffin 1300-2400 hp take your pick theres 13 to chose from.. should make it move along quite nicely.
I havnt designed the turret yet but ive an idea.................
All comments welcome
Regards Andrew

Too many return rollers. Just the five double ones spread out should be enough.

Ditto the above.
Think about this, the drive sprocket is way too narrow for those tracks. When the turn begins the tracks, "torque up" (twist), my words not technically correct, and will jump off those narrow sprockets.
A M48 Patton had wide tracks, and drive sprockets to match, and they shed their tracks with annoying regularity.
Just my opinion, but the idea seems fun, keep at it.

Hi mate, like where you`re going with this. It`s nice to see something different going on - i too like doing something like this so it`s good to see how other modellers approach the subject of "what-if`s" or what i term "warhammer-ing" it.

So what happened to your big, bad-ass, British tank? Going to add any back story?
