Hi folks,
This is one I've been working on in the background, my representation of a vehicle from 8th Troop, C Squadron, 9th Queen's Royal Lancers, 2nd Armoured Bridage at Alamein in 1942.

Nice work Al, looks very much like a brand new vehicle that has been in the desert for only a short while. Spot on I'd reckon.

Hi Pat,
Hmm not quite , it's actually a re-work of my Pinki! I was never really satisified with the colour of the original, and too many attempts to correct it made the finish too thick and ugly, so I stripped all the paint off with Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner and started again.
It meant rebuilding some parts, the side rails, fixing a few bits that got lost and a re-paint and I opted for a different finish to see the results.
It''s a mix of the original Formations DV upper hull, DML lower hull, Tamiya Transmission and Turret with DML early 75mm.
I still intend to do another Pinki, but there are better sources for Desert Pink around now so hopefuly the next one will fill that Gap and Tasca provide a very nice kit so mix and match won't be necessaary.
Thanks for the feed back, appreciated.
Cheers

Looks good Alan. Is that the Dragon decals?
Ahh, a nice 'sister tank' to my recent build...

Hi Jesse,
Yes indeed, nice work on the kit. No the decals are from the Bison set which cover a number of early Mk II Shermans.
Cheers and thanks for looking in.

Very impressive. Those decals look like they were painted on.

Hi Matt,
Many thanks, the Mk II DV is one of the most 'attractive' of the Sherman family. Hope to do a few more in the future.
Comments appreciate.

Hey Al
Been AWOL for too long!
This is a beaut mate.
Any thoughts on shining up the rims on the bogies? I mean the contact/rubbing points from the inside edges of the track teeth.
Also what is the texture like on the hullsides? Is there enough to ground some sand pastels in like it shows up on the drive sprocket? Would look the goods methinks

Hi Brad,
Yes, been a while, hope all is well and the Seasons Greeting to You.
Thanks for the thoughts, I will see what I can do. The driver/gunner need finished off and added, so it's not quite a done deal yet. I'd kept the weathering light. pre battle. There are some excellent options in the Western Desert Shermans, hopefully more will follow.
Thanks again, glad you like it so far.
Cheers

Nice paint job, Alan.
Can you do anything with the aerial?
It looks like it's been through it's own personnal war.

Hi Tom,
I kinda liked that! I was a recycled job, so it's a bit crook! , but I dare say it could be repalced.

Hi folks,
Thanks for all the feedback. Here it sits with the crew on board, some pennants flying and a little more work.
Brad, some wear on the road wheels, and Tom a slightly straigher antenna, well just , but I did add some flags.
Merry Christmas to you all.
