That is a pretty awesome set of pictures. It is funny as I just won a T38 in resin from a Dutch auction site and been reading up on the vehicle and looking for walkarounds. And today I learned that the fenders of the vehicle were made of wood. They are just planks. Which makes this find even more amazing as they are still pretty much intact even after immersed in the Nevski bridge head for over 70 years.

Looking at the pictures, from what can be seen of the rear of the engine, it looks just like a model A ford 4 cylinder flathead.

Almost. The original T-38 had an engine GAZ-AA which was based on Ford Model AA truck engine. T-38M had an engine GAZ-M-1 engine which was based on Ford Model B.
But either way the engine is from Ford...
