Matt, glad to see your build out of the BBQ pit -- good recovery!
Jeff, nice camo -- looking foward to your winter treatment!

Fellow Matchboxers,
Completed a bit of work this weekend. Here is a shot of the current components and the stand has a basecoat on it. Since the photo was taken, I have attached the upper hull and have worked on the base a little more. Wrestled a bit with a pronounced gap at the bow, where the upper and lower hulls meet. A wee bit of a bother.
Thanks,
Stephen

Sorry guys but its looking highly doubtful that I'll make the deadline. Afraid a lot of college work has taken over these last few nights. Only had an hour or so last night to work at a couple of campaign builds and this ones no nearer completion. Just a lick of paint on the figures and cammo on the renault.
I'll keep bashing away it and post when its done.

Richard, I like your Chevy, and really well done for doing all of the figures.
Noooooooooooo! It's unbelievable how this must have just tripped everyone who ever built this kit, including me... Stephen check out the discussion on this point on page 3 of this thread. The lower hull plate is supposed to overlap the upper hull plate, i.e. they don't meet at a point as one would naturally assume. Take a look at this photo (on the same chassis) notice how the leaves are sitting in the groove behind the lower nose plate. Anyway, there you go... that's why there's the gap. Shame they never thought to make it really obvious in the instructions.
The Priest is considered finished. I'm waiting for some matt varnish to dry on the base to relieve a bit of that shininess, but otherwise this is it. Right at the end it kind of came to me that the metallic paint on the track treads was done when I first got the kit around 36 years ago, the only thing I ever did to it back then, and I managed to prime and paint the rest of the tracks this week without disturbing it. Nice.
Did headlamp lenses with Deluxe Materials' Glue'n'Glaze, so it's a bit rubbery. Not sure what I think of this kit - the surface details and the whole of the rear deck and the fit of those big box things on the back seemed a bit poor, as well as the lack of driver details; on the other hand, the back plate, the wheels, tracks, and both guns are all quite nice. Regarding the interior detail that Jan persuaded me to do, the driver controls and instrument panel are visible, but the transmission cover is hardly visible at all now the gun is in place. Oh well.

Great to see all these builds coming together
I have been slogging along between snow storms, and have the decals applied and the hairsprey on getting ready to do the whitewash.I have also been working on the base
I don't know if I will finish in time or not.I know this is my second build for this campaign, but it would be nice to finish it.Jeff T.

Well I just finished. Not kidding, I painted the last details on the diorama few minutes ago. Here are the final pictures. I had some problems with the light so most of the pictures are "yellowish". Will try to make better ones in a few days.

Fellow Matchbox-ians,
Almost done. Just sealed the decals before weathering. Hope to make the deadline, but I will not be able to post pictures for until tomorrow, at the earliest.
First Circle - Thanks for the reminder on the lip at the bow. I remembered that, but I had an actual gap between the top hull and the bottom. That I filled with a tiny strip of plastic. I was able to retain most of the lip, so I think I am good there. Thanks.
So, if possible I would like to ask for a day or so extension to complete the model and post some proper pictures for the gallery. Maybe until Monday if there are others out there not quite finished? If not then then I will hustle and get some posted tomorrow.
Thanks and apologies for my late start.
Naseby - Awesome job on the LRDG. That is one of the kits I have been wanting to build. Again, really nice finish.

John,
Nice little collection, I have a few unbuilt still in my stash, and would like to get to them someday. Maybe Matchbox Nastalgia III sometime in the future.
Thanks

Congrats to everyone who finished. Its always great to see these old kits built.
I'm only sorry I didn't finish mine in time, but real life got in the way the last few weeks and I would have spoiled them if I had rushed. I'll keep everyone up to date and post pics soon.
Cheers again for a great campaign.
