Is there a visible difference between T-90 and T-72 tracks?
Width? "Length" of each trackpad? Miniarm have announced a T-90 track with rubber pads which I could use for a T-72 based project provided that the visible difference in 1:35 scale isn't too big (PT-91 Twardy ....)

Yes there is a visible difference because they are completly different tracks. While the early T-90 (cast turret) still use T-72 RMSH type tracks, latest T-90 tanks (T-90A ect.) have different tracks, very similar to T-80 ones. If I remember correctly, PT-91 is using the 570P tracks manufactured by Diehl, so buying a Leopard 2 track set would be the best choice.

Yes that's true but probably Robin was referred to the latest T-72 tracks

They are the same tracks of the T-90

T-90 tracks, at least the most common type, are very similar to T-80 tracks, but they have thicker "inner" rubber pads (the pads that contact the roadwheels). It is noticable enough that you cannot switch tracks.

T-72 tracks are very different, RMSh anyhow.

My guess, since this has come up, is that if they do have a modernization of T-72's they will probably start upgrading their tracks to T-90 level...after the RMSh are used up or completely diverted to the T-55/62's that have been retrofitted.

Will the new sets from Miniarm cover the T-90 'new style' T-72 tracks(?).

Two new track sets and new drive sprocket:

Thanks guys!

What I was really looking for is a set of tracks for the Polish PT-91. I'll check the reference to Diehl tracks, might cause more work with the sprockets though ....
