Hello everyone!
I have a Jumbo from Tasca in my stash, which is my first Sherman ever. To build it I plan to add some AM sets:
1.Armorscale 76.2 mm.barrel without thread protecting ring.
2.Lionmarc skids.
3.Some PE & OVM tools (Voyager or Formations).
4.Casting symbols from Archer.
5.Antenna mast from Lion Roar
6.A set of separate tracks.
7.Some additional stowage and texturing.
I'd like you kind fellas to let me now if:
-there are any other options concerning the barrel, as I need only a barrel without mantlet (the only variant offered by Armorscale).
-Since this particular version of Sherman had only T-48 type tracks with duck bills,my choice is limited to the sets from Panda Plastics or Modelkasten (SK-48). According to different sources, every link in the latter set consists of 7 to 9 parts, but the final look is unbeatable(which results in high price). I haven't found any pictures of this particular set of tracks assembled,so,does this worth the effort and money? Images or links are very welcome.
Cheers!

The Tasca skids are at least as good as the lionmarc skids. Don't waste your money.
Lionmarc does make both 75mm and 76mm barrels that are well done.
There's not really much PE to add to the Tasca jumbo that's not already included. Is there a particular item you think you need?
For the tracks, AFVclub also makes them. I would vote for Panda plastics if you really think you need single link tracks on a Sherman.

Hi Jesse!Thanks for your opinion!
As for the skids, well I need them just to replace bolts on the bottom of bogies.
Lionmarc barrels look good, but they do not make the one with smooth bore edge (without the ring).
When it comes to PE parts, I think it is possible to replace front fenders and OVM tools with their holders (I do believe PE and resin parts make the difference).
AFV Club tracks...well it's just not mine
Anyway,I'd like to try the ones from Modelkasten, even though I haven't seen them 'in the flesh'.

The Tasca suspensions have the bolts at the bottom of the bogies. The lionmarc skids and bolts are for some of the other manufacturer's with less detailed kits.
Do you have a particular photo of a jumbo you're trying to model? Some with the field replaced 76mm did have the muzzle protector.

go for T48 tracks with EEC from Panda, nicely detailed and far fewer parts than the Modelkasten offering

Thanks for the replies!
I guess I would not buy the skid set then
The reason why I want a smooth barrel gun is simple-according to the decal options provided in the set, the tank with muzzle thread protector has no stars, that is,it is a monotonous olive drab scheme without any bright spots ,which means the final result would entirely depend on my painting skills.
And those tracks...well I guess I should torture myself a little, unless there is a decision from Bronco in the nearest future
Cheers!

The Panda Plastic tracks are MUCH easier to build than the Modelkasten, and there's no real detail advantage.
