Thanks Bob, I'll see if a little more work can bring it to life. I quite like the idea of the guys in shorts. I'll think on it.
Cheers

Been following this from the start, a major work of art buddy. You should have had this in the dawning of a new age campaign. Superb work.

Hi Peter,
Many thanks, glad you're enjoying it. Unfortunately it was already a WIP when the campaign started. It actually harks back to the end of the last WW1 campaign when I did the Anzac Cove piece. I'm hoping to get the figures and main elements in the forward trench this weekend. Then I can have a go at making some webbing to added to the personal gear.
Cheers

I think if you do Al it would defo be a winner. Apart from it being so good, the size would take up most the table anyway

Hi Pete,
Thanks. Transporting things is the problem. I've only taken kits to a show once. The only real contender would be the Duxford show. I'll see how it turns out now that you have planted the seed
Cheers

No worries Al. When is their show? Might just head down and see the thing in real life.

Hi Pete,
The Duxford show is usually the closest Sunday to the 6th June. Next year that's on the 15th. It incorporates the Military Vehicle Open Day and a lot more.
No promises though, I'd have to see how far its gone nearer the time and arrange with IPMS for them to give me some space. I'm not really competition orientated so it would just be a display of the build.

Hi folks,
A bit more work on the forward trench, added the figures, and some more personal kit.
Here are a sequence of pics moving right to left across the dio showing how things link up. Whilst there is still a lot to do this will most probably be the final figure placement.
same run looking into the trenches
Front and back of the forward trench so far
Cheers

Looks real good Alan. Would be nice if you could get a panormic veiw!! I don't know if you can do that on a computer or not, probably, just way beyond my skills. Are you going to add electric wire with hanging bulbs or use lanterns in the tunnel? The clear lanterns that come with some Tamiya sets would work well.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for looking in. I was going to use the lanterns from the Tamiya Churchill.

They are nice lanterns. I painted mine up and used real thin copper wire to add the criss crossed safty cage, the cut off head for a straight pin glued in place for the fuel cap and you're good to go. Painting the wire before hand caused paint to chip off when bent into place so I had to wire her up and then paint. Very small brush, very steady hand, and a lot of nerve and caution. But I must say it looks so much better with the cage than without it.

Thanks Bob,
I hadn't thought about the wire frame.

Hey Alan, my Itt tech, my daughter, comes home tomarrow and I'll see if I can get her to take a good close up shot of the lantern. I wish Tamiya would offer that clear sprue for sale by itself. The lanterns a quit well rendered and very usefull. Don't know who ever came up with the idea but it was great.

Some more additional items for the trenches, I've added a cleaning rod for the mortar and a sight case, plus the carry handles and the first of the respirators.
For the forward trench, respirators, bandolier, ammo boxes and water bottles.
The first set of leather pattern webbing turne dout OK so I've a couple more of those to construct.
In the SP, the 3rd figure has found a home, on Duty with the Officer. Some boxes and and a rifle finished and added.
This leaves the remaining small kit, some shrubbery and general scatter for the top of the front trench and some more rats. I need to decide whether or not to add a cover to the OP.
Cheers
