Hello ,
as a armour modeller the PT 596 was a challenge. This is the first boat built and the biggest model to date.
Started the boat back in late 2011 ,by the dates in the thread it has taken awhile to get together.
I attempted to use Mission Models 50 cal rounds for the 50's and had trouble with the links coming apart when trying to get them fitted into the tubs and the guns .Changed direction and went back to the 1970's Tamiya rounds and found they had been more flexible to work with .
Here are the finished images of PT 596
Built out of the box with hornet head changes
Completion date August 2013

Thanks Guys for the kind words of praise.
Luciano I'm going to get some more detailed photos done shortly and place it over in the gallery .
The down side to the boat is trying to get a good detailed photo because of the size

Hi Michael,
Very nice build of the PT, you got there!
Really like the camo on the hull.
Just one observation, some of the rope at the bow should be
attached to the anchor, in my opinion.
Cheers,
Joe

Hi Joe,
I was using the 2 squadron Signal publications on
PT Boats in action and the Elco 80-Foot PT Boat both by David Doyle and they both had a large number of images that did not have the rope attached to the anchor.
I was in a mind do I or don't I , I suppose it's a personal preference with modelling .
I think the enjoying part is with the rope by trying to get it wound up into a nice little circle on the deck .
Joe, Thanks again for the kind words of praise .
Best
Michael
