Hi guys. I started building 2 T34s a few days before registering to the forum. The first one is the Tamiya ChTz. I want to make a very worn out vehcle with this one. The second, is the Zvezda T 34/85, which i am in the process of making the 2 conversions to make a Greekcypriot version. That means the 50 cal on the turret plus a box on the left side for a reserve pump these tanks had. I painted them last night with Vallejo Russian Green. The paint gave me hell. The colour kept turning into cement in no time and the airbrush clogged. The tracks are only test fitted not glued. Next step some filters pin washing, chipping etc. Some pics.... Please feel free to point out any mistakes and give advices. Thx for your time.

Very clean. How's the Zvezda kit? I've only done a couple of them, but both were light and lacked detail.

Hi Matt
I've been building a Zvezda T-34, and I can say that shape and dimensions are incredibly good. and details are very crisp
Unfortunately lower hull sides and suspension arms are one piece moulded. Furthermore engine deck looks like that of the T-34/76 1942 (plant 112) rather than a deck of a T-34/85 1944 (plant 183)
Of course, the best models are the DML and AFV club, but with a little effort you can get very good results from the Zvezda kit....which is incredibly cheaper than the other ones
Nice job so far John, congrats
Do you have any original pics of a "Greek-Cypriot T-34"?
Cheers

Thx Retiredyank. I tried a lot to keep it clean with all the airbrush problems i had. Now for the Zvezda kit, Spiderfrommars covered that prety much. This kit is very well suited for the Greekcypriot model. It has many features that otherwise would need a lot of scratchbuilding or sacrificing another kit, to take parts. It is very easy to build and with very good detail. The only issue it has as a model, except the poor quality tracks, is the rear armor. It has a gap there at both sides. But that is easily solved by cutting the plastic part that joins the two side armors at the back. I mean the one under the engine deck. If you cut that it comes along very nice.

Thx a lot Spiderfrommars. I hope the rest of the build goes smoothly as it did till now. I agree with you regarding this kit. The very low price makes it a good choise... As for pics no originals sorry. Only those everyone can find on the net. But there are lots of them.

I managed to get some better ones. But i also noticed a big problem! At the third photo you can see it. The plastic melted, from too much weathering probably. I wonder how i can fix that.

I can't see the flaw. Can you spot it?...Anyway, It seems to me good indeed. If I were you I'd add just some extra loads and maybe a tarp to give it a more interesting appearance
cheers

Hi Mauro, thx for looking. I placed some arrows at the sim line of the upper and lower armor at the back. I think it melted because of the thinners that concentrated there during the weathering process.

I think i'll leave it as it is. That Murphy guy and his .... laws always seem to apply to me every time i want to correct something. The odds are against me. Thx again Mauro.
