So, rest rest, all urgent matters resolved at the time of the next project Activities. The decision to choose a "victim" was taken quite a long time, because the choice was a dozen different variants of the desired model. In the end it was decided to focus on the further continuation of the branch "PT-76." It seemed to me a pretty interesting, and as a continuation of the chosen self-propelled gun Soviet SU-85 (which in the Navy received index ACS-85). The sample itself pretty interesting, a fine example of post-war Soviet tank. While in the Army, these machines really did not hit (being repressed T-54/55 medium tanks), but in the Airborne Troops, they lasted right up to the late 80s, and participated in the Afghan war.
As part of the design of self-propelled gun has inherited much of its forerunner, the PT-76, basically a touching way, but she lost the ability to swim. The main gun is a gun 2a15 (D-70) in 60-80s, she was able to deal with all major NATO tanks, not counting the Challenger, Leopard and Abrams. Before the advent of airborne Nona, Octopus and BMD-4, the ACS was the most powerful unit in service in the standing army of data, the same goes for armor. 45mm forehead, tilted at an angle of 60 degrees was a reliable protection against shrapnel and shells melkokallibernyh (can not be said about the BMD-1 and 2, punched in all the projections of small arms (when using BZP)
Now a few words about the model itself. In general, a well-known kit from Trumpeter. Immediately encountered the error in the title-arr. In 1956. But we presented a model with closed wheelhouse and hatches, which were installed in 1960.
Now compare the geometry of the machine and the model
Length:
1/1- 8435
1/35- 241
Model-236
The total error of 2%
Width:
1/1- 2970
1/35- 84.9
Model-84.5
The total error of -0.4%
Height:
1/1- 2015
1/35- 57.6
Model-59.9
The total error of 4%
Base:
1/1- 3808
1/35- 108.8
Model-105
The total error of -3.5%
As we can see the geometry in general everything is fine.
What is not liked? Well, it certainly detallirovka places, but it is treated as harassment, and with his own hands. Do not like the road wheels, which are still stupidly taken from the model PT-76, issued in 2006. The thickness of them is clearly not sufficient. But this is also treated with rollers on the Master Club. Just did not like the complete lack of canvas cover on the mask tool. He was released just Accurate Armor, but in any online stores of their products was not found, the course can only be ordered directly from England, according to this there will be a deal on their own.
Now turn to the enumeration of all aftemarketa:
1) Road wheels for the PT-76 from the Master Club
2) A set of photo-etching of the Voyager
3) Antenna input and 4-meter antenna on the P-113 Model Point
4) Available in store from the gun SGMT Model Point
5) Lights by Elf
6) Well, I can not wait when nalichai on the internet shelves will friulovskie tracks for the TP-76.
Review of data items lay out a little later
With regards to materiel. In the presence of a fully three otfotografirovannye museum ACS-85, a few other destyakov photos, a few movies, and of doling out the article in the description of self-propelled guns. Just naryl scan of the pages of the manuals, operating instructions, I would like to find a complete and higher quality in terms of resolution scans of the publication.

So, I continue to illuminate the process. Finally we figured out fenders (left somewhere podshpatlevat) had to work hard and build up a very decent layer (because the difference in thickness between the etched wings, and composing large). The antenna input of the R-113. Worked with various design details. Changed the position of attachment dop.trakov. Added a couple of welds (who still have to make a set)

Changed the shape of structural elements fixing "sloth", gave details of the correct form of a 6-face (gives a dull tramp round)

The farther into the forest, the more wood but ...
While work is in full swing, there is a rapid study of the materiel. And unfortunately, even in the new whale is a very broad number of stocks. At what stocks clearly not venial.
So it was noticed by complete absence of a gunner's sight unit (located behind the cabin)

Lid hatch for refueling, for unknown reasons shifted to the right, but should be located directly under the viewing device (pictured at the expected position for attaching Trump)
Like Trump, and all manufacturers aftemarketa explicitly ignore such a thing as a wiring connector from the nest monitoring devices, and in fact it is quite evident

I continue to illuminate the process.
At the moment, combined with the bottom of the upper body. Welds made (yet certainly not all). Began monitoring devices.
It is also made from the plastic podrukchnogo, absent a surveillance device to the rear gunner. Plus, self-propelled guns to be used on the tarp Model Point. By PT-76 does not come in mind the form of the tower, but here is ideal.

made the cast number on the chassis
Is quietly moving forward. Made the rear dimensions. From the proposed set of remains perhaps the only mounted to the chassis

Interesting thread, you've done some very good improvements so far
Are you going to change the model track links with the holed ones?
cheers

Here a walkaround

As far as I know there is any plumbing. Fuel cells were just carried by the tank.

David, on the stern of the machine are two barrels BDSH-5 (smoke bombs). Fuel drums look different. It is also self-propelled guns have met with two barrels on the roof (but this is the machine model 1970 with DSHKM. Themselves as a set of drums is not quite correct. I would advise them to change the ET MODEL, drums from Voyager are too small diameter. I have has not yet decided whether I wake to set the barrel on the roof.
Mauro, tracks will be changed to FriulModels. Just have to saw the drive wheels (asterisk)

Mauro, I would not recommend this paves the museum specimen. Too much out there does not correspond to reality:
1) Mud flaps on the wings.
2) Many of the technological holes, elements and design details are removed
3) BDSH-5 are replaced by drum type unknown to me
4) The roof of the power pack redone
And much more

Yes there is. A friend sent a full scan of 360 pages. But I do not think that it will be necessary for you. For illustrations, diagrams and drawings are very few, and all in Russian

Yes I know. The majority of the references which I've found actually are Polish
If you have some good links to recommend me let me know. It doesn't matter if they are written in Russian, I need original pictures
Thanks

If you really need, I can throw the book on-page e-mail.
Either the whole gradually or in sections.
That is, for example the section on engine and transmission is not particularly necessary. But sections of the chassis, weapons, tools, monitoring and communication may be useful

A small update.
Wire produced a few rails, made the remaining monitoring devices, as well as around some of the welds. Shifted to the right place to hatch lid for refueling.

Now, almost finished my model. It remains to complete certain amount of small things and minor nuances. The model does not yet have the illuminator OC-3, it will be later. Well, I will wait chiseled trunk D-70
