Hi guys, i started working on Trumpeter's T 62/mod 62. The model looks great with no problems so far. I want to make a Syrian T 62 of the Yom Kippur war era. Does anyone know what camo options i have for this subject?

Hi john.
In my humble opinion Iif your goal were to depict a Syrian T 62, it would have been far better starting from the "1972" version. In facts I've hardly ever seen Syrian T-62s derived from mark "1962", you could be obliged to make some modifications to have a correct replica. As far as I know mk "1962" was more common in Egiptyan army.
Anyway, In addiction to the great Dave's build, you can look here to find lots of useful pics and info
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/188523&page=1
I'll follow your build for sure
Cheers

David and Mauro thanks a lot for your interest to help me out and the info!
These builds are really nice, sorry got to go and mop because i was drooling for some time in front of the screen.
I'm kind of not so right in the head so i kept on looking over the net for Syrian 62 models and i found this!!!!!
Please tell me Mauro that this is a 62 model. I love the camo. If it is the right one then what are these colours?
Thx in advance.
PS: If this is not a 62 model then an Egyptian tank is the next choise.
John.

Hi John
Here a drawing of it
Here other pictures
That's a Syrian T-62. As you can notice the engine deck seems to be a mod-72 one. I can't say about the track links. At a first glance they look like the earlier ones
Here some other pictures
(Note the earlier track links)
Cheers

Mauro i will give you a headache as soon as i decide if i'll go for an Egyptian or an Iraqi tank.
By the way how can i change the thread's title guys?
Managed to get all the major assembles done and now it's time for some detailing with wires etc. The kit is very easy and fit simply superb! On the other hand tracks need a lot of cleaning.....

I'm afraid so Dave. They are nice in terms of detail but need too much cleaning to get glued. I don't mind having to put a lot of work into a model, but hate to do it for the wrong reasons.

Jacques thank you very much for your reply. I guess the title will stay as it is. No big issue anyway... I should have done my homework better.

Good afternoon guys. T 62 is assembled and primered. Tracks are clean and ready to be glued.
So that leaves us with the camo issue. I like the one on the pic below, ( i post it for discussion purposes), but can't figure out if there is a third color on it, like a grey, or lighter shade of brown? What do you think?

Hey John, look here
http://tsahal.miniature.pagesperso-orange.fr/coloris.peinture.arabe.html#egypte
Your scheme is the "Egypt one" Is a sand yellow and brown hearth.
This is a mod 1962 which looks very close to your exemplar
This mod 1972 (look at the track links) seems to be painted with the "Egypt 2" scheme (sand and dark green). Note the green stains on the mudguard which unleave the underneath Russian green
here the links

Hi everyone, got some more work done tonight, i painted the tank with some shades of Vallejo's Russian Green. In reality it looks much better than in the photos, but the camera flash, doesn't really help. Next, are the sand and brown colors.
@ Mauro another big thank you for all the info, Egypt 1 is my choise, if i can get it right that is, and not end up with an Egypt 8.........
