Hey guys
I just got the Tamiya T-72 for a steal and I was wondering what aftermarket items are out there for this kit.
I am really impressed by the quality of the kit

There is A LOT of stuff out there for this kit, conversions, photo-etched sets, metal guns, updates, engine set, roadwheels, workable tracks, etc...
What are you after exactly?
Cheers,
Christophe

I envy you. I've been looking for that kit for ages and I've never found it yet...at least I haven't found it at a reasonable price...
Anyway, I agree with Christophe, actually there are lots of items which you can get to improve it.
The best ones are produced by Miniarm

Tamiya Kit looks nice, it's absolutely the best T-72 on the market so far. However it has some flaws. The worst is that the hinges of the first stowage bin on the hull (the one on the left side) are on the left side.Actually they should have been on the other side. Furthermore the kit represents a quite rare DDR version. If you want to depict a tank of another country you'll have to look your references and make some little modifications. Anyway, if you don't mind these little inaccuracies, you can however get some great result with an OOB build. However, If I were you, I'd change at least the vinyl track links.
Friulmodel makes t-72 metal track links
It could also be nice changing the gun barrel
