I will be scratch building a GAZ P-1.5 Trailer soon, and I need some help identifying some details. On the front end there is a devise that looks like a tightening screw, or adjuster of some sort, and a strange springlike devise that's under the frame also on the front end. Is anyone familiar with this trailer?. The available blueprint image I have is very vague on details. It is a blur

Hi Richard ... The spring on the rear i would say is a shock absorber trailer hitch ,seen that sort of thing many times on old trucks ,the spring takes away the shock of towing so it won't break the hitch .
Now to the front ..it could be exactly what you thing it is ,an adjuster ,some trailer towing arms i have seen have an adjuster so they can lengthen or shorten the arm ,,when towing multiple trailers its common to shorten the towing arms so stop speed wobbles and makes it easier to two em and gives a shorter turning circle .

Thanks, that is useful information, only it's not exactly what I was looking for. Let me see if I can be more descriptive. I see, on the image I have, there is a turntable like solid disk on the front axle, above that in the front corner is what looks like a low profile vise like device that has a acme threaded adjustment screw. Under the front disk like apparatus is a long handle/lever looking thing attached to a leaf spring like devise. It is these two items I'd like information for. But I digress. The information herein is also useful and well appreciated.Thank you again sir.

Frenchy, yes that's the one I have. The item in question are, in the front bottom corner , the vise like thing angled to what looks like a turning disk. Also in the very front what looks like a longish lever with some leaf spring thing associated with it. These details look important to the overall look of the trailer. Any ideas?. Somehow this site acts weirdly on my system. I saw you post with image for one look, and then lost it, so I reply without seeing your image!.

It appears that the wheels are connected to a ring, letting them turn and help to control the trailer. The triangular vise like piece would be the support for the trailer, when it is not hitched to another vehicle. Note that I know nothing about this trailer, but have some experience with schematics and blueprints.

So, if, that is some sort of "breaking devise" could it be to controls the trailers ability to swerve, in a snake like manner, when in a multiple trailer lash up? A tighter front axle may lend a straighter multi unit train. Also let's not forget that leaf spring like implement just under the center of the trailer frame?
