hi guys,
just a quick question, can it be physically possible that the UAZ-469 jeep be carried inside the cabin of a Hip chopper? Does this happen on real steel?
Thanks a lot guys!

Not 100 % sure about that...
Here are the Mi-8 cargo bay dimensions :
and here's the UAZ-469 :
Looks like at least you would have to fold down the windshield and remove the doors upper parts... But I haven't found any informations to confirm this has been actually done.

I have a photo of a Hungarian UAZ parking out from a Mi-8. Yes it has the windshield and the rear canvas holding frame folded down. With the nose pointing towards the exit of the Mi-8. I will try to send you tha photos later.

thanks a lot guys!i see, that is exactly what i was thinking, a uaz facing backwards. i am building a hip and i was wondering if i can put a uaz inside the cabin (top down of course). The kit will be inspire by the afghan theater 80s. the uaz will only have a machine gun, more of like a technical configuration.
cheers!

Ok a post that i can answer with total confidence
The UAZ-469 can do some pretty cool things .. i worked on the real thing a few years ago and found out a few things ..the top section of the doors can be removed completely from the lower doors and yes as you guys know the windscreen frame folds down and its designed this way to make this machine air mobil ..heres a few pics to show ya
This pic shows the large seams between the upper and lower door frames .
This pic shows the upper sections removed .
This should help ya out real nice

A UAZ 469 getting out of a MI-8
I've found it on the official Russian paratroopers's site
http://desantura.ru/
Anyawy they could also launch the vehicle using a parachute, so Phill, your guess is right

really interesting. at the moment im doing the 1.35th trumpy MI-8 to have a Uaz 469 in the rear.
Going to be NVA, so at the moment chopping and changing the helo, and then i will do the Military Wheels car, that kit is terrible! i did one a couple of months ago, super detailed so much (any one want to see fotos?). this time i only need to build quick, and show the rear of the car from the back open doors.
i look forward to the new trumpy Uaz469, but not wasting that on this project
im a DDR nut, i do aircraft, tanks, soldiers, armoured cars etc and 99% of my builds are NVA (been over there and got a large tattoo on my shoulder, the same one you see on the side of a NVA LSK plane lol)
never put fotos up on here, and im new to forums, so will try and work it out, although i use 3 pc's depending where i am for uploading fotos to my FB of my model builds they can be stored all over the place.
