I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out when these trucks started using the "late" style tires?

I am interested in building a 4320 guntruck, or Broom to be specific, in Afghanistan during the 80's. Finding good photos is proving to be an elusive task to me and any help would be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Did you see this this thread ? Even though I'm not sure it would make things clearer

Here's one :

According to the accompanying text, this guy is Alexander Broom, the inventor of this guntruck, and this picture has been taken between April 1987 and July 1988...

Frenchy, once again you are a hero!

The photos in the thread show both styles on the uparmored trucks, but the photo you posted very clearly shows the later style tires with the more aggressive tread pattern and the deep-dished wheels on Broom's guntruck design.

I don't know how you always manage to find this kind of info, but I sure appreciate your skill set here.

Cheers

Outstanding Frenchy! I was looking for that blog again as well and couldn't find it either, despite typing Ural 4320 into the search here. I swear sometimes I have no manner of luck whatsoever when it comes to internet searches...

I've just realized that the guy's name is in fact Alexander Metla (which means broom in Russian...). Google translator has its limits
