Well, I'm working on a wading rail for the Tamiya T-55 but I'm having trouble getting the "bolt holes" (for lack of the proper term) to look right. I've tried to drill them using a small screw driver or using the tip of a xacto knife. However I can't get them all to come out correct based on what I have seen in pictures. Can anyone suggest a tool to use? I remember reading somewhere about jewelers tools, but when I search online, none of the tools look correct.

Thanks a lot for the help.

Have you tried heating up a pin and opening a hole with that?

Have you tried making the holes on a plastic sheet BEFORE cutting a frame which will replicate the rails? Is going to be stronger this way

For the holes your should use micro drill bits such as these ones

Otherwise you cauld try to use a syringe needle

cheers

Erik, that's the way I did it myself to get this

Be aware that you have a mix of holes and notches on the real thing. Another option is to use the rail that comes with the Trumpeter T-62 mod62 engine deck.

Is the Trumpeter rail compatible with the Tamiya kit? I didn't know and since I have both, I'll make some resin copies next time.

Anyway, yes, I should have quoted who has given me the tip about the rail Thanks again Olivier

Thanks everyone for the tips and for the link to the tools. I'll give them all a try.

I hadn't thought about using the rail from the Trumpeter kit. Something else to try.
