That looks very nice. Checking the link, I noticed that you failed to paint the interior of the muzzle break and the metal links on the tracks. A basic, dark green would suffice for the muzzle break. However, this would depict a tank that has never fired its main gun. The tracks should also be weathered according to the rest of the tank. The commander's gun should be black or a very dark grey. The antennae is a little bit chunky. I have never mastered stretching sprue; and, as a result, invest in some thin wire. You may want to apply a pin wash, to pick out the details. The bottom of the hull should be a bit rougher for wear than the top and sides. Great job, for a first! Keep on building.

Hello Rob,
Ill tell you that your first tank kicks tha crap out of my first 6 or 7 builds!!! What Matt said are all valid points, but this is your first and a fine tank it is. You can take this one to another level or just learn from it and the next will be better and so on. You may also have limited materials for details like washes etc.
There are tons of info, references and tutorials around not to mention tons of gentlemen here who will answer any questions you may have on any matters concerning armor building, painting, weathering and the like - so dont be affraid to ask. Keep on building Rob and we cant wait to see the next tank!

Wonderful finish! Definitely better than my first(Panzer II left with just primer topcoat)! Wish you had some close ups. A lot better with the foliage. I hope you pursue detailing the figures. That seems to be a whole nother animal. The weathering on the road wheels and tracks is a far cry from anything I built for the first year or so. Shelf queens are my specialty. Do you intend to add any markings to the tank?

For a first model it is an excellent opening bid. The only suggestion I would make ref your base is using reindeer moss is not the best thing to use in large quantities.

Rob,
Hold your head high pal, that is one kick arse model. I started over a year ago, had a few practices and studied build after build and still can not pull off such good work, you are a talented man and I look forward to watching your work grow from strength to strength

Two points to you, good sir! Excellent job on your first outing!
Only thing I feel that would be missing is the hull markings, denoting unit and what not. Other than that, the only thing I could say would be to keep up the great work!

Good to see Monogram Models getting built once again and in fine style as well. Built that kit its first go round back in the late 60s or early seventies and your build brings back lots of memories.....good job..keep it up

Nice Job Rob!
I had that tank when I was a little kid, nice to see it again. Where did you get it? I may have to pick one up just to bring back some childhood memories, lol Take care and keep up the great work!

Really a solid 1st build, congrats on actually finishing it. Your 1st set of pictures the color of the Patton looked more bluish green, but in your second set of pictures, the color is much better. I'm thinking that it was how you had your camera set up. It's nice to see that you took some of the suggestions and weather the tracks.
Welcome to the site. Looking forward to your next build.
