Hi
I am unable to figure out how to post photos on Armorama so I thought the next best thing would be to post the link to my blog. I only started in August but update regularly so there a few things to have a look at, all of Soviet origin . The model quality and photo quality is abit poor but I am only 15, sorry.
Feel free to take a look!
Thanks
Euan

Wow, great stuff. I really like the BMP in particular, and the weathering, I wish I was that good at your age. What did you use to rip up the left fender? Also how good was the Nona kit? It equally looks great.

Maybe move the tarp off the smoke launchers would be my only advice. The crews would probably keep those clear in case they were needed.

Definitely keep up the work and keep posting.

Thanks alot for the encouragement, I really appreciate it. I used nippers to cut out triangles of the fender then used pliers to shape, peel and bend it back. The Nona was a very simple kit to build. All the pieces fitted fine and the detail is actually quite good. It is, however, a reasonably plain kit which is ok as it is in real life. It comes with link and link tracks which are very good for kit supplied ones. My only additions were a couple of wire handles and a shell ejection port at the back of the turret. These modifications may not be accurate but I just wanted to add some interest. I also left the tools off, I can't remember why. You're probably right about the tarp, but I felt the vehicle and dio were looking abit dull. I also think I saw a photo of a BMP with a tarp around it's turret, probably no the whole way round though
Thanks for taking the time to have a look!

Well done on your wins at the Glasgow Model Fest Euan. The most important piece of advice I would give to someone your age would be Stick with it whatever comes your way whether it be girls, drink, work whatever. I stopped modelling at 17 and only got involved again in my mid thirties- if I had stuck at it I would be nearly good

Good blog too but sometimes people are too lazy to click on links in blogs unless you give them a taster

so as I was just showing someone on another thread how to post photos on Armorama I'll repeat the method here

How to post photos in a thread
1: Click on the thumbnail in the gallery and a big pic will open
2:beneath the pic will be a line marked Linked thumbnail click on the icon at the end of the line and another line of text will open marked HTML code

3:copy and paste this line of text into your post and the pic will appear when you click on the reply button
Voila!

Here's a page you can practice on

Thanks very much for your kind words, I pretty much do nothing but model and hope I can keep it like that.
I'll have a shot at posting some pictures on that link you gave me, thanks for the explanation.
Thanks again

Here is another way you can add pictures: Go to Photobucket.com and create an account. It is free. Then upload your picrures to Photobucket and then you will have an option to make a photo album. once that is done you go to photo album and just put you mouse pointer over the picture you want to copy to Armorama. move your pointer to the last file and it will auto copy to your mouse. Then you got to the link you started and right click and click on Paste and it will add your picture to the link. I know it sounds like a lot to do but once you figure it out it is fast to use. I hope this helps

As to BMP-2 - You must trench deeper the perimeter lines of hatches of gun ports on vehicle's boards (these hatches looks like "outlined in black" in real life); show splotch of fuel near throat of rear fuel tank on roof of assault crew compartment; and show much more soot in-and-near exhaust grill.
You photos are good enough.

When I studied in my Institute, all young men should study military subjects too (one day each week). I studied as BMP-2 driver, and I shined this vehicle "through the length and breadth".

Pat, It wont let me upload anymore photos to my kitmaker gallery because it says I've run out of room. How do I fix this, do I have to delete others pics, if so, how do you do that. Your help is much appreciated. Also, can you post a photo using Flickr?
Thanks

The only way to get more gallery space is to become a subscriber.

To delete photos from the gallery go to the additional info line under the photo and click on the edit photo button icon -the one beside the printer - and that will open a window where you can delete the photo- you have to delete each one seperately.

I post most of my photos from flickr.
Click on the share button and then click on grab the HTML/BBCode that'll open up a box with the code, but before you copy it change the size in the box underneath to 800x600 and click the HTML NOT the BBCode. Then just copy and paste the code text into your thread.

It sounds complicated but it's really not

Hi Euan,

You have some really great work their for sure!!! You sound like me at your age, as the guys have said keep at it no matter what!! I made the mistake of stopping for girls, beers & work & am only now 20+ yrs later having to start & learn again!!!

And as Mig & Adam Wilder have shown you Can make a business & a lively hood out of "painting plastic models". If you keep up the rate & great work you could too in another 10yrs..or less as the level your work is at now!!

Congrats on the awards that you have already won!!

Cheers Mike

Thanks very much for you kind words. I dont often get to hear what people think outside of my family and club, so your comments are much appreciated! I wish I could get a model related job because, as Confucius said, 'Do something you love and you'll never work a day in your life'. It took me from August until November the 3rd to get 100 views on my blog. On the 3rd I got 22 views in one day, which I thought was excellent. Yesterday alone I got 217 views, I was amazed. Thanks all you guys who have taken the time to view my meager offerings, its been great to know what people think as I dont really talk to people at shows.
Thanks again, I truly am grateful for you encouragement!

Hello Euan,
as far as modelling related jobs go you may want to look into studying industrial design or some type of CAD/CAM related field. This has led me to working as a machinist/modelmaker in a prototype shop where I've been able to make parts for my own projects during slow periods.

Thanks very much for the advice, I'd never thought about the industrial design part. Your job sounds excellent, getting paid to make models!
Thanks
Euan
