Hi all
I am prepairing for my next build, which will go with the SS-15 when complete, but as I feared I am haveing trouble finding information. As I hope this system has been retired and manuals and drawings would be able to be found. I wish there was a way you could learn another laungage in your sleep. What I am trying to find is what kind of track this system used and cabeling for the missle so rear end shots. if some one would be able to give me the russian phrases to search under. I have a Russian keyboard and do pretty good once I have the information. This is the 5 Star resin kit I bought 3 years ago and I thought it would look good next to the SS-15. Any help woud greatly be apperacted
Thanks
Jim

Well I worked out the tracks, the launcher is built on an ISU-152 frame.

Maybe some walkaround pics would help (providing you don't know these already...) ?

Jim ,, mate you should be lucky with the cables ..i know they don't hook them up until their ready to fire ..they fuel the missile then too i believe .
I've seen a heap of pics of the Scud being transported and i can't remember ever seeing the cables hooked up ..only when its getting ready to launch .
The reason ( if i read it right ) is the cables are kinda heavy and when the truck is moving it can cause the cables to sway and can cause damage to the connections ,but dont quote me on that ..it was in Russian and i only got bits and pieces of it
But it does sounds pretty plausible to me .

Thanks Phil that makes since, I know the Maz-543 version is hooke up durning transport, Thou I was reading a book about the scud and early versions were aimed like the German's did with the V2, but I am not shure how long that lasted. So far all the pictures I have seen, no cables
Thanks again

I guess this one will not be as useful, but here it is anyway

According to this not-so-great drawing, it looks like the missile warhead could be added just before the launch...

Happy Thanksgiving all, I have started the build right now I am cleaning off the excess resin on the parts so there reall isn't anything to show yet, but once I start glueing the parts toghter I will take some pictures. I have learned a lesson with reesin and CA glue. I have changed over to 5 minute epoxy and I am not getting parts breaking off. it slows down the building, but the results are much better in my eyes.By all

That looks like a Defense Intelligence Agency drawing of the Soviet Threat series. The reason it is at such an angle and not so good is that it taken from a reconnaissance satellite image.
