Hi all, I'm searching informations about Su-152 in iraqi service during Iran-Iraq War and First Gulf War. Do you know if there was any modifications from standard WWII version? Any pics?
Thank you
Andrea

There was no SU-152, but there was ISU-152. I have posted a picture of one on a timeline of the Armor Journal Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/TheArmorJournal
If you can't find it there (1400 pictures total so far), I will try to find it on my HD tomorrow.

Here's an unlucky one outside Camp Fallujah (from Wikipedia):

Don't know how long it has been there though

Nice find, Frenchy. I wonder what is that metal box with the red crescent?

The upper part of an ambulance truck (GaZ 66, maybe)?
Red Crescent is the Middle-East counterpart of the Red Cross.

Nothing blew it off. If you look at the larger res version carefully you will see that it was cut off on purpose.

What a hell of a waste cutting that up ..who ever made that decision should have his head read ..there is nearly none of those in western museums and sitting there was one just waiting for a new home .
Things like this annoying the hell out of me

Regarding Iraqi war time use of these I have to say I doubt it. There were obviously a bunch of old WWII-era armour (M4, M36) in Iraq in museums and as gate guards. Some might have been dragged around to serve as decoys(?) but there doesn't seem to be much proof that they acctually were used. Wiki isn't always the best source for information. Anyone that have another source regarding this?

Cheers,
/E
