Hi everyone,
I want to make a Slovene T-55 from the Ten-Days War and from what it looks like, most of the tanks were Polish built. I know the engine deck and snorkal are different, but is there anything else that is different between a Polish and Russian built T-55? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've been building a similar exemplar for quite some time now
Slovenia 3 June 1991. The beginning of 3 days war. JNA Army enters in Slovenia passing through a corn field
#18062
@18058
#18067
T-55 captured by Slovenian and now employed as a gate guardian (note the Slovenian reservist crest)
Russian made T-55 with dozer blade
Russian made T-55 seen in Bosnia (?) Unfortunately it's hard to see the code
Exemplar captured and destroyed by the American soldiers in Bosnia (#19472) note the lack of the mine roller plugs on the front glacis
You can find other pics here
http://stef124.tripod.com/t55.htm
http://www.oklop.net23.net/t-55/albumt55/index.htm

I hope this is useful for you. Anyway if you need other pics, let me know. I've plenty of them
Cheers

Regarding the differences beetween a Russian a Czeck and a Polish T-55s
Russian made exemplars have the early track links
Polish and Czech the late ones (the same of the T-72s)
Be careful. The later track links need a different sprocket wheel with 14 teeth
Another difference is about the gun mantlet
Czech and Russian have the roughest and the longest one
Polish exemplars have the smoothest and the shortest one
Note that also the bolted plate above the gun mantlet is different. As you can notice the Polish one doesn't have any ribs
if you need more references, send me a PM
cheers

Thanks a bunch for the pics, that JNA T-55 driving through the field has always caught my eye. Also thanks for the pics that show the differences and I will defiantly pm you if I have more questions.

Thanks for the pictures. Definitely a big help in future builds.
Now, does anyone know if the Polish L shaped fuel cells are available in resin anywhere?

What type of fuel cell do you mean? Do you have a picture of it?

Think there is a pic of the early shaped fuel cells in the Osprey T-55 book. The wading rail for Soviet built is available in the russian T-55 update set from Miniarm.
Mauro the last link in the Czech T-55, looks to be Soviet built to me. Also the Russian T-55 has only 1 lift hook at rear of the turret.

Yes Andy, you're right, the first exemplar shown in these pics is Russian
But the other one must be Czech
As you know for sure, sometime different turrets and hulls can be mixed together so you can see for exemple a Polish turret assembled on a Russian hull. That's especially true when you look at the Middle Eastern or Afghan exemplars
Cheers
