Some lovely pictures this Monday morning of Russian tanks at an old repair facility:
http://englishrussia.com/2012/12/02/the-story-of-one-armor-repair-plant/#more-114843
There's quite a varied bunch here- 80s, 72s, 55s, PT-76, BMP's and some BRDMs.
Enjoy!

I Have found these images fascinating It just amazes me that they are all left lying around and werent sold off It also gives an insight into the cold war or just how large scale it was the other side is the manpower required for just these vehicles plus training live fire exercises, uniforms etc. you could keep going but the soviet war machine was one very dangerous beast.
Cheers Ben.

Interesting pictures. I found the one with the pile of turrets very compelling. Wonder how many hulks are just in this one facility...

Nice link Karl! I had missed this one. Very interesting.
On the other hand it's also a sad sight for anyone that has served/serves on tanks.

Thanks for posting the pics! We have always have seen pics of knocked out Russian tanks in Iraq etc. It is interesting seeing photos of them in repair facilities.
A knocked out Russian tank is one of the iconic photos of the 20th-21st Centuries. Just proves that third world countries should not invest in Russian tanks!
Time to break out the rust paint for a modeling project.

Glad you like the pics fellas. It must be pretty cool to be the photographer to be able to walk around all those hulks, I'd be there for hours...probably days !
