Here is my Tamiya SU-85 from '74! I just applied a wash with windsor and newton oils burnt umber. The pictures may not be of good quality. I'm making this Su-85 in the Polish service as you may have seen in my other post.. still need to know what language the slogan is in though! anyway here are the pics.
the little tamiya puppy is going on the barrel as in the pic i'm recreating. lol
here's the pic for those who haven't seen it.
comments will be welcomed.

Looks very nice there Commander :-) That is one ugly piece of machinery, eh? I love the looks of that monster so far... I especially like the numbers - very nice and sloppy... hehehe
One thing you might consider... and this is TOTALLY up to you, is to replace the rear engine deck screens with veil material. Cut the material to size, glue it down and use plastic strip to model the edges. Of course, if you don't feel like taking the Dremel to the thing, that is perfectly understandable too... lol (I like to Dremel whenever I can find an excuse to break the sucker out BBbbbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrzzzzzzzztttttttttt- I love that sound!) Anyway - Thumbs up from me...

lol jeff i got to use my dremel to sand off the fenders and yes i was thinking about replacing the plastic ugly screen with nice mesh. i figured it's too late to get an Aber detail set so i'll probably just buy some mesh and do as you said. i actualy like the look and design of this tank.. very different i guess you could say.

nice job Commander.
but what i do is i will glue the upper tull to the bottom hull .
then i paint and do my washes.
but before u paint glue on any small parts.
cause i read in shep pains book.
that to do this be cause none of the small parts will break when u gule the 2 big parts together but its comeing out great

Lord Dave, I'm going to put Tamiya's little puppy dog on it from the 6x6 cargo truck accessories. you can kinda see it laying on the table in the 4th pic.
