Along with my T-90SM project i will also start MSTA-S in 1/35
For years this vehicle amazed me and i said to myself "i have to make this one day", so, the day has come and i am going to start work on this.
I will use Zvezda T-80 and T-72, SKIF T-80 wheels (or resin wheels) for hull and i still have to find a way to make main gun, i will get muzzle brake from D30 and update it since its similar to one on MSTA-S and turret will be completely scratchbuild
So, a lot of work is in front of me, wish me luck
I will post first pics as soon as i make some progress during this week!

Here is first update
I cut out most of turret parts and most of hatches
I also fit lower part of turret with that "rotational" part.
This will really be a lot of work, i kinda underestimated how hard this project would be but i`ll keep on fighting

Hi Ognjen;

Im really anxious too see how you work the lower hull, as the wheel spaceing is quite different. This vehicle is real big and will be a monster sitting next too a T-90.
We cant wait too see your next Up-date on your project

I want a 2S19 as well.
You mentioned you are using a muzzle break from the D30?
The D30 is 122mm. The 2S19 is 152mm isn't it? Will this
look right? I am sure you have looked carefully.

I was considering the break from the Trumpeter Chinese
howitzer. I think the Type 98/99.

Please post your progress on the main chasee. The wheel
spacing, positioning.

Thanks for posting those drawings. Where did you get the drawings?

Cheers

Looks like a good project
Would love to see someone attempt the twin over-under Koalitsiya-SV version!

Sorry for not replying before, i havent visited forum a lot lately....

John, I got drawings from one Russian friend
Yes, i know that D30 is 122mm, i would change diameter of muzzle brake of course, although i`m now waiting for response to see if i`ll be able to get metal barrel with resin muzzle brake for MSTA so i dont have to make everything by myself. Thats mostly why project is stopped for now....
I did though put main parts of turret together without "top" part so i will post pics of that probably next weekend when i get some spare time to work on my models

Carlos, difference is first in placement of wheels, you can compare chasis of T-80 to drawings and you`ll see. Next big difference is fact that MSTA has T-72 engine so whole back part of chasis is same as on T-72, other than that there are also some "boxes" and stuff placed on top of chasis, you can see pictures of MSTA and T-72 to compare.
