Hi guys,

I'm looking for pictures of the T-62 Model 62 tank during the Prague Spring in 1968.

Cheers

It was my understanding that the T-62's combat debut was during the Sino-Soviet border conflict of 1969 but I just went through my collection of Czech Uprising pics and came across this.

Which is coincidentally the same markings as the trump Mod'62 kit(minus the air recognition marks). Is this is in fact a pic from the Czech Uprising why isn't it mentioned in any books that the T-62 participated? It's not mentioned in Zaloga's book or on the internet

From Magnum Photos:

Go there and make a search for Prague 1968 or something like that and you'll get lots of good hits. There's a bunch of color photos of T-62's, BTR-50's etc.

Actually this pic wasn't taken in Prague,it was taken in Bratislava on 21th August 1968, as well as some other ones which Frenchy has posted.

Well, I think you know that some of the pics posted in this thread depict some T-54-B exemplars.

Here another one. That's likely to be the same exemplar

Note the snorkel and that strange extra fuel cell on the left
