Hi guys,
I am wondering if anyone could help with pictures of how the fenders look minus the fuel cells but that show how they mount to the fender I.E are their attachment brackets & if their are mounting lugs underneath the fuel cell so to speak.
I have some photos of the little side brackets so to speak.
Cheers Mike

Hi Mike
I'm sure Mauro will come to the rescue, but in the meantime, these pics may be helpful :

Hi Mike
There are no bolts under the extra fuel cells
Extra reservoirs are atached to the fenders with some brackets that are on the side ribs

Hi they sit on rubber strsps attached to the fender with small loops to stop vibrations. You can see the straps in second from last pic Mauro posted. Brackets clamp to the fender stays to hold them in place as Mauro explained.

Hi Frenchy, Mauro & Andy,
Thank you so very much for the photo's & information,
Andy the rubber strips would their just be 4 of them one under each corner or do the run the length of each fuel cell so to speak? Also would that also be the same type of arrangement for / under the stowage boxes on the other side?
As I am trying to model a Libyan T55 that was given hillbilly armour & Scherzen & Mauro has advised me that the fuel cells were most likely removed & I would be guessing that the same would apply to most of the stowage boxes if they were in they way of the supporting beams for the scherzen.
Cheers Mike

Didn't know I photographed them so it's not the best of photos... but anyway...
I assume the short lengths are worn off and that they originally run the whole leght under the tank.
Cheers,

@ Andy & Eric,
Thank you very much for that it is exactly what I was after!!
Looking in some of the photos their looks like drainage holes near the fender edge is that correct? As I haven't seen it in lots of photos but just a few.
Cheers Mike

If you look closely on the pictures above, the holes are present on all photos as long as the angle is right (on one of the Afghan wrecks you can't see the holes themself, but you can see that they are there 'course of the light spots in the shadow on the lower hull). Normaly the tanks/stowage boxes pretty much covers the holes so they are a bit hard to spot.

@ Eric,
Cool thanks for clearing that up for me, I will have to add those as well.
Mauro has also informed me previously that the fuel lines themselves would also have been removed when adding the Scherzen, I don't suppose you may know of any top view photos of these tanks??
Many thanks again
Cheers Mike

Mauro, whats that in the white circle ?, is it another drivers vision port ?, it looks like another vision port so probably is, but just checking.
To be honest, it seems to me like a common driver vision port...
anyway i'll try to check in my reference pics

Hi Mauro
Once again thank you so much for all your help with my endless questions!!
In the 1st photo that you sent me showing the T55 going off the rd, do you think that the first rd wheel is a reinforced hub type or are my eyes & glasses just playing tricks on me?
Also with the fuel tanks & stowage bins removed I thought that the original green paint may show thru on these parts or do you believe that they were repainted over after they were removed??
Cheers Mike

I don't remember...Can you show me that pic?

At 99% they were repainted. There were no green large stains on them
Cheers

I got the e-mail but I can't see the pic
Anyway, did you mean this one?
In my opinion they look like common starfish wheels. Some of them don't have the cap
But that's just my opinion
(Thanks a million Matt )

The T-55 without the extra armour plates does indeed seem to have reinforced hubs on the first roadwheel, but on the other one it is very hard to tell tbh, it should have, because its carrying extra weight, but having said that, I'm gonna take a wild guess and say these guys are probably not too worried about wheel bearing lifespan, lol
After all, they have just welded steel girders to the front of a T-55,
I agree, considering the urgency, they would have been too worried about
...WELL DONE MIKE!!

Does anybody know if the stowage bins on the other side would have / show the same rubber mounts as the fuel cells do if they are removed?
Or are the actually welded / mounted on lugs so to speak?
Sorry guys just trying to get all my info at the same time regarding how these all look removed
Cheers Mike
