I have uploaded pics of my first two builds. This is my first time ever using an airbrush or using any weathering techniques or even attempting to build any diorama. Now the other problem is I have been able to upload them in my kit maker profile but haven't figured out how to attach them in my post. The first was the M48 Patton and my next attempt was a M2 Bradley. After many hours of reading and research,I think I am making some progress. Be nice, or at least some constructive feedback. Thanks Coop

Considering how many firsts you have going on here, it is a really nice effort. The pictures are somewhat out of focus, more so on the Bradley. The weathering looks nice. I would suggest a flat coat over the model to remove the shiny appearance.

Sadly it's time for a new camera, it wont focus consistently. I had to use a flash also. I'll shoot a dull coat. I will say, I have found this site amazing.

I have some observations which are;
The vehicle on the base should always be at an angle to the base.
it helps to add some unevenness to the base as it makes for a visually appealing look.
The mud on the uniforms of the troops may be applied using pigments as opposed to paint.
I suggest you drill out the end of the barrels on the weapons on both the vehicle and the figures, a set of drill bits between 0.3mm and 1.5mm can be picked up quite cheaply and a pin vice to use them in is also very reasonable.
That all said I rather like the base work on the Bradley diorama.

Thanks for the help with the pictures and the feedback. I do have pin vise and bits for the barrels and will remember the base placement.

Pretty nice stuff Doug.
Is the M2 braille scale (72nd scale and smaller)?

Nice work Doug. I too was wondering whether it is 72 or 35 scale.
I can see you have used browns and greens for the storrage on the bradley, including the straps. If you have the time, an easy but time consuming improvement would be to paint the straps separately to get some contrast to the storrage.

Doug, for your 1st efforts, you did remarkably well. Your airbrushing looks evenly applied without any runs nor drips. So you've got the basics down nicely.
Using Pigments to help replicate mud or caked on dirt, adds depth that paint can never do.
Looking forward to your next model/diorama.

If I'm not mistaken, the Bradley is the Academy 1/35. I've got one sidelined on my bench right now...

The M2 was the Academy 1/35th scale. Thanks for all the helpful tips. The Patton was done first and I saw where someone had made mud out of clear epoxy mixed with dark paint. Was interesting,but not realistic. After reading more on the weathering with pigments I got some to try with the Bradley. Still reading and learning so much. The figures are a real challenge,but everything I have read on it, seems practice and more practice is the key. Which is the key with all of it. My wife laugh's all the time when she see's me into the computer for hours. She comments " oh you must be doing more research on your models"
